im afraid if we make them any more powerful for k luth then thay will all be just droping like tons of em under a dread (NOT in a minefeild but in a massive mine bomb clump) and not as a minefeaild k luth allready do it but if it becomes any mroe useful then thay will easly eliminate plats by mineing them

ICC either doesn't like or don't know how to use theirs, and UGTO don't bother as you only have EMP mines.

It's more that ICC minelayers can't cloak, so it's fairly easy to see where they're placing mines unless they do it outside of combat with no enemies around.

not only they can't cloak, but they dont have cruiser that lay mines either
those cruiser miners seems awfully capable combat ship even without the use of mines

You forgot, Kluths HAVE TO DECLOAK to lay mines.
What you can do is for your minelayers to point jump to an area just ahead of an enemy's direction and then lay the mines while curving around his flight path.
Do you really think that mines are just layed out in open space and left there as a trip wire?

Yes they have to decloak to lay mines, but a Kluth can do this near a planet with an active interdictor base then recloak and escape. If an ICC or UGTO minelayer tried to do this they'd almost certainly get killed, especially trying to drop mines in platform clusters.

I'm talking abt deep space battles.
If given a choice, Kluth would rather not fight near planets. Especially those spammed to the hilt with sensor bases and sensor plats.
Minelayer dessies, fast as they are can point jump in front of enemy dreads or stations and mine their path. Enough of this "static defense" thinking. Get out of the mindset that you have to lay the mines and have the enemy come over and run into them.
BOMB the enemy with your mines and then use your manueverability and speed to bug out of there.
