Problem I find is
The moment you find /y offensive and block it. a minute later there might be some nice conversation going on, and you Don't know about it because you are not receiving it.

The old yell sounds nice again but i would rather see double range, so yes 10000Gu.
That or have /ignore's apply to /yell. why, well that way you could selectively pull the annoying people out of your chat, while still being able to monitor the more sensible conversations.

Why not just add a /block (type players name here) that way you don't have to listen to them? sort of thing

Ideas is bad and problematic. You see A can be in range of B but not in C. And when there is 50 people playing , go figure the confusion.

Very much against its removal. Should just let ignores apply in game but only to yell and target chat.

honestly the entire chat system is bad.

i dunno about you guys but i dont run around with f4 open, and i miss a lot of things that are said.

im too busy swapping between f2 and regular cam in a fight to look at chat, let alone read / digest / reply.

give us chat boxes with filters please.

1 chat for fleet, one for faction, one for sector... or 'yell' or 'local' or whatever you want to call it. fit all the other crap like system messages and whispers somewhere in there.

3 things will be accomplished by adding actualy chat windows.

#1: The original topic of this thread; yell chat. its a lot easier to ignore if you minimize it.

#2: having text not dissapear and be kept in a manageable section of your screen

#3: end the useless clicking between chat 'types', or alternatively ending the useless /y, /fleet, /faction commands.

I do not understand why everyone insists that everyone has to read it. I do not understand why it is a problem if I want to NEVER see red text EVER again in game. Why is giving us an OPTION to block or disable a problem?

I like that you are trying but seriously why could you just not make a command to ignore /y. Now I have to ignore everyone in game to make sure I cant see /y and then they can't talk to me. It makes no sence the only thing I dont want to see is the dang /y chat, from my team or other not a single person in it. Can't you just make a command /ignore yell to ignore it?

UHhh, sadly, i don't see anything change whatsoever, /ignore already ignores a Player in game real fine. And i don't see the real problem being fixed with this

SAY i want to ignore the players that /y ware, not only i ended up probably of ignore 5/6 of the players in game which take an hour to do, but il end up ignoring my own god dam Faction/fleet

thats is just a cheap way to fix something, wich will come back and bite yur behind, and you gonna have to end up fixing it again

THat is unless theres some missing information on that line

I'm not sure what you are talking about. /ignores have never applied to in game chat. Now, you can /ignore add Zero28 and never see that person's chat, be it through /send or /y. Generally, you don't need to hide the entirety of yell chat, but just a select group of offenders. As someone said earlier in the thread, one minute /y could be in the gutter, but the next you might actually want to see.

As for ignoring your own faction, you can always /ignore list and /ignore remove later.
