Not sure where this belongs, so thought here was close enough.

I had an idea for an event. Obviously. Anyway, its based in DS history.

2218 CE: In a daring raid, a large and very well equipped pirate fleet attacks assets around Earth. All orbital installations are destroyed. Additionally, it is found that the GCC fighters were ineffective against the pirates due to a new coherent light beam system that the pirates were employing. Evidently, the pirates had discovered a new materials process that would allow them to build coherent light beam weapons that had a much faster and more reliable cool down cycle. It was later discovered that the pirate fleet was actually a coalition of at least six pirate clans. The inner system worlds are outraged. An all out military campaign against the pirate threat is called for by a unanimous vote by the GCC, Mars, and Luna. Each government had been suffering devastating losses to the pirate fleets in recent months. The willingness of the pirates to unify against a high threat target shifts the balance of power away from the inner worlds. Additionally, there is the new threat of possibly being cut off from their new interstellar colonies.

This scenario recreates the above historic battle, with more modern ships. Two sides, the Pirates and the Earth Defense Fleet. The Pirate's objective is simple. They have 15-30 minutes to destroy all orbital facilities around Earth, before reinforcements arrive. The EDF must preserve as many orbital facilities as possible.
Facilities:
Platforms (various. Some weapons plats, sensor, depot, if possible, plats that don't do anything)
BiFrost Station (In the form of a UGTO Supply Station)
Earth Defense Station (In the form of a UGTO Battle/Command Station)

Firstly, some special code may be required for the stations so they don't do anything stupid. They should fire, they should turn, but they should NOT move.

Next, fleet compositions.
Pirates (UGTO)
2 Battle Dreads
5 Cruiser, 2 Torpedo, 3 BC
8 Destroyer, any
10 Frigates, any
Infinite Scouts, any

EDF (UGTO)
4 Cruiser, 1 torpedo, 2 BC, 1 Missile
8 Destroyer, any
unlimited frigates/scouts

It looks like the EDF are screwed, but they have the advantage of two defense stations, planetary defense, and several platforms that will level the playing field. Obviously, adjustments can be made to fleet composition to even things out.
