It used to be that when you were within 500gu of the planet, everything became visible.

I'm noticing today that I cannot see any buildings or infantry on enemy planets until I get within 250 of the building or infatry. Not even the planet itself. I have to be within range of things on the surface, which makes large planets annoying.

When was this changed? It's incredibly annoying to have to fly circles really close around planets in order to reveal the surface.

This is in scenario; maybe it's a scenario-specific problem. I haven't tried in the MV yet.

Why does everybody keep mentioning scanners? This has nothing to do with scanners.

I'm wondering how many people don't realize that you're supposed to be able to see the entire planet if you're less than 500gu away.

I think they should change it so that u didnt see one single thing on a planet, not even infs number or whatever if u dont have scanner on.

But thats just me

Sparkle, your getting somewhere wich gonna ends up like a Single tranny would be able to bomb and cap a laent on its own

Tranny adds firepower in bombing, but it is not an Effective Bomber, again you need Other ships around to peform the said ECM and scanner and bombing itself
Your job is just carrying inf to planet during your allies bombardement, the Bombs on it are just to soften the landing area your allies can't cover right now for your inf
500 or 250? what doe sit changes you'l need the scanner and ECM support anyway to effectivly bomb

That still doesn't explain what's going on. I'm really not interested in anything but why we can't see planets from 500gu anymore. I don't care about it's merits, I just want to know why.

Funny, this last map I wasn't getting this problem? Even huge Uranus was properly visible from 500 away.

It was in Procyon I was getting it, and a few teammates. I first noticed it at Procyon 6, and it only had 4 buildings, and no enemies around so it rules out ECM.
