That is how many players have signed up on Darkspace since I joined on this day eight years ago (going by player ID numbers). It was during March Break in grade 10 when I joined and I spent much of that week playing this incredible game. Although mostly off rather than on, I've played Darkspace for many key moments of my life: I played it through my grandfather's cancer diagnosis and then his passing (just a couple of months later), I played it through my first real relationship, my first heartbreak, I played it through my high school and university graduation, and now I'm playing it while taking a break from writing my Master's thesis.
I've been so lucky to have met so many great people here, some of whom are still here, some of whom have left this community, and some of whom have left this world altogether. This game is really special for me because of all the friends whom I have flown with (or fought against). Even though now I only log in once in a while, I still appreciate the wave, hug, or even smooch from y'all who remember me--especially if it's from a current or former officer of the Galactic Navy.

Wow 8 years congratulations, i'll be giving the 8th party myself soon.
And yes i know its been a amazing time since we joined, even more amazing the game still draws us back to it to shoot the crap out of each other.
Argh, GTN, anniversary & march, things brings up another subject we all know to well.
