Couldn't say with Smartin. I played against him more than with him. He came K'Luth in .483 as I went UGTO (literally the same day!). Then I left the game. I came back ...er...two and a half years (?) later, and he was leaving the game. I've heard he was a good wing, but I dont know it by experience.
With Sauur, Razor, JM, and several others, I have had that close wing experience. Sauur is the only pilot I have ever flown with that can start on my wing, take the lead if need be, then fade back and take my tail, all without a word. I can go into a battle and do all the stupid crazy crap that I do in manuvering, and look over and he's still right there. We can shift in and out of battle and cloak, and we know where the other is at all times. Best I've had on my wing, and if anyone can top that, the difference has to be miniscule.
