I have only 1 fav wingman, when I was flying UGTO, COMMANDERHAWK was always there to take the wing of whoever needed help, he was also the only one who was willing to take my wing in suicide missions

I know wings better than Col. Sanders, and I've had really good ones over the years. Some that come to mind:

Razor
Arch
Sauur
Silent
(Just about any Wolf is true, because its the basis for the squad.)
But I would go with Sauur.
We've covered each other's wings for a long time. He knows what I'm doing most of the time without me saying a thing, and has covered my retreat more times than I can count. He's died for me to escape. He never leaves my wing without letting me know. Add to that the pure knowledge of both DS and general tactics with a SMALL splash of common sense (he's freakin nuts).
Easily one of the best this game has ever had.

They are excellent pilots but I dont see them as being "wingman" they are the people that wingmen follow around

Just to name some on my list that where good buddy's to have around when it came to enemy combat..
I don't think there can be a competition of the best wingman, since i find the best wingman the one that would be willing to fly and help me while i help him. This isn't limited to combat, heck having a crazy supply pilot hanging around can be just as good.
Take your pick, but i say. who ever flies with me today or any-day, belongs on the list of best wingmate.
