first of these are mere suggestions about how i think stations could be improved.

support stations.

i think it might be a good idea to give them 2 station supply drones instead of 3 normal. making these a bit stronger then they are now and take some offensive capability’s away from the support stations. making them more specialised in supporting fleets. it might also be a nice idea if station supply drones could be switched out for station build drones. making it a all round support station able in supporting the build of planets and the rebuilding of ships.

command stations.

these aren't often jused because there a jack of all trades but they don't excel in anything. they have the most amount of fighters. but that is about there only strong point. i would suggest taking away there build drones and leave building to support stations and engineers. give it more things that are based for aiding a fleet. made a short list with a idea for each faction's upper.

icc - shield charcher. it is a beam based pro that would transfer a stations energy supply to a nearby ships shields. make it a energy drainer do making the juse of it in battle hard because it would leave the command station with little energy to defend itself.

k'luth - area cloak enhancer. simple effect it would shorten the cloak times of k'luth ships in a area of lets say a 1000gu but it would only work while the station itself is uncloaked and the effect isn't stackable (otherwise you would get fleets of command stations popping up in seconds and cloaking in seconds)

ugto - i am having a hard time figuring something out for ugto command station. since they have no faction specials. i think maybe something like a huge emp pulse weapon would prove nice but then again that is also easy to exploit.

k'luth batle station.

i think this isn't a k'luth ship it is the rip of from human ships and aldo it does have its value it doesn't fit in k'luth. i would recommend redesigning it. making it the biggest carier in the mv. no core weapons hardly any missiles and beams just an insane number of fighter slots. i think such a long range support station would be more a thing for k'luth then a battle station mainly because it is to slow. k'luth have the krill as a heavy hitter. the battle station is a human invention it isn't ment for luth.

if you have any good idea's for faction specials for command station post them and i will put them in here.

i lol'd at this. stations don't need improving. they need to be nerfed to stop there over use as it is.

you read it completly borgie. this wasn't about upping stations this was about how they could be chanced to suite there purpose a bit better. in my eyes that is also a improvement.

There already has been the idea of giving the supply station a bigger repair drone.

The idea i talked about with draf (a while ago) was that a currently we got one device doing two jobs, Resupply & repair. While we have this it might not be effective to make changes to the supply structure, we have the supply ship and station to do repairs and the supply frigate to provide front-line service. If we where able to separate the reload & re-supply it might be possible to create more designated jobs for all of those ships.

A station would have a single large repair module that allows all its repair facilities to concentrate on a single target, and a smaller module that allows re-load to other ships. We even talked about the posibility to have a even fourth drone service to just only repair system damage.
(the four drones services: Build, Reload, Repair ship, Repair systems.)
But that is all up to ballance of the ships, i can imagine the frigate would get a reload drone only, while the trier1 supply would get the same reload + a ship repair drone. the trier2 supply might have no reload but two repair drones.

On the other subjects, i will have to think about it. Its still early in the morning. (11:50am)

didn't need to read it. only thing stations need is a higher pres loss rate when you die with em, to make a station usage more practical vrs just throwing battle stations at enemy fleets and hoping for the best.

like the idea. my only concern is that it would render the heavier sups useless for ammo as they could only repair.... that would be majorly bad as ICC.

Luth is Close and personal. In addition before the contact with the alien humans, the luth didn't even had fighters.

light or medium drones might be able to be swapped out for the other kind.. + this is just what we where talking about, actual balance might be different.
The ICC heavy supp might have 4 light drone bays. while the ICC normal sup might have 1 light & 1 medium..

The only reason ppl use sup stations over the Battle Stations due to the great fact they can sup, and attack.
