unless it is some new gadget or other explaination for an AoE buff, I hate the idea completely.
If it's some WoW or SWG kind of inate ability type thing, it is totally out of the scope of how the game works. Maybe if the game were totally reworked to add character classes, ship building, etc. Not as it is tho.

And I personally like the AI, but would just like them to interact differently.
And what is the idea of the command ships themselves? Will they be changing in loadouts, sizes, etc? New ship class?

And Sense, no take the Brood. The Ganglia is the real K'Luth ship, the Brood is the imposter. We do not want the Brood.

nahh realy, putting AMJD's on your Escort Dessy fully loaded with P cannons and ruptors after a k'luth kill was a very nice feeling




Another idea. ALL of these ships in the classes use the same hull. if that is so, could we , aswell/instead of having fixed layouts, have a system of custom layout making?

Based on the point system, so weapons will cost XXX points, you will start with XXX points(maybe based on rank)

also restrictions on how many weapons of one type you may have, for example:

im a 1st RA, and quite annoyed i cant get a AC, i decide to make a AC style custom loadout. But, it restricts the amount of beams i can have, so i cant essentialy "cheat" for a AC.

i would love to see this, as it would alow Modding in a controlled enviroment.

and if the mods are getting worried people will churn out OP designs...

That's what I've been saying elsewhere. All our ships are basically hulls that are pre-modded for us.

Devs can say "aint gonna happen" all they want. The new space MMOs coming out all feature modding. It's what players want. There needs to be limits to modding, like no more than 1 flux wave. This game needs to become very competitive, because it's getting more competition now. Say "no" to a modding system all you want In the future, if this game is still around, I do predict we will have a modding system due to it being the #1 most requested feature.

well how bout for the next version could we bring bk the modding aspect of the game back and for certain reasons you would need to make sure that some things cant be change IE the ED PD assault corv the icc equivalent and Missile ships like missile destroyer missile cruiser and missile dread the items like missiles and torps cant be taken out on these ships as well as the PD EDs cant exchange the lasers for cannons or we will have the same trouble we had in the 483 version PLUS try and make it like the system we have atm no need to have empty cargo holds to take out and install the equipment as that leads to shopping and players carryin extra armor or weapons or jump drives

here is the points

bring back the modding of 483

restrict the modding on the PD ED MD MC missile dread assault corv and icc equivelent (and any kluth ship if its like any of the above)

make the modding simple to use like in current version so players cant use the equipment of other factions or place extra items in cargo hold

and while im at it why not bring back the idea of weapon lvls and so on just like 483

if these can be implamented again i and many others would be very greatful

PS in using 483 as my base as its the only one i can fall back on and admire some of its qualites

Weapon levels are still here. All guns are max level to the type and class of hull.

dont see a point with adding levels to the gandgets because ppl will max them anyway. but we do "need" more modding options.

one way to do it as posted above is to just use 1 hull for each class and then we get to mod them however we want, within certain limits ofc.

like, no only core weapon dreads and the likes.


but only beams or rails/p-cannons/plasma cannons should be allowed atleast.

or more fighter bays at the cost of less gadget slots. say each fighter bay over then stock ammount costs 2 gadget slots or something...

Well like I and some others were saying, the missile dread already is a mod of that particular hull type; it's just pre-modded for us as a long-range missile ship. The command dread is another mod of that hull type, while the combat and assault dreads are mods of a different hull.

Like Jar Jar said, there needs to be some type of modding well beyond our simple choices now but not the way it was back when we had flux dreads and torpedo missile dreads. There needs to be limits.

I for one don't have a problem with people making a torpedo dread out of a missile dread, because at the heart of it it's just the point system in use. If anything the point system would need refining. It may [i[seem[/i[ imbalanced because that whole version was unbalanced, but with the current point system I think it could work, within limts. That's for another thread though. I will say though that if everyone has "overpowered" ships on all 3 factions, is anyone really overpowered? It's kinda self-balancing so long as the overpoweredness doesn't come from mounting 10 flux waves or a bajillion heavy cannons.

But don't simply say "aint gonna happen" Game has to become more competitive and attractive than ever, because it's not just EVE it will be competing against soon.
