Richard or anyone else can you please put gift voucher purchases make them possible I have a few friends I'd like to play the game and want to give them gift vouchers redeemable in game for 30 days of game play

Yea i could but i'd rather buy a gift voucher and give it to them and not have to pay on there accounts thats upto them.
All other MMO's i've ever played has had a voucher system so that people can give the gift of play time by simply purchasing play time via voucher and then giving it as a gift.

Idea is great, but there are some drawbacks.
can you buy coupons for only 1 month or 3 and 6 months?
How long is a bought coupon valid.
Will there be a additional cost? (e.g. 1 month coupon for $10.50?) because the coupon DB usage will increase a lot.
Who to call, when coupon apparently not working? = extra staff work.
The Idea is nice, but the idea is old at the same time..

I am sorry, Eledore, but none of those are problems whatsoever. Those are simply questions to be answered offhand by Faustus. I dont imagine it would be difficult at ALL to create 1, 3 and 6 month vouchers. This is just like the coupons we recieve sometimes. The programming code would be virtually identical to that. They would be valid indefinately or for a limited time, depended on how Faustus wants it to go.
Storing an alphanumeric sequence and the duration of play time it represents would take up VERY little computer space, consuming less than the space of a simple home PC over the next 10 years. The staff would be more than able to handle trouble with faulty coupons and address problems. I see no problem or trouble creating this voucher program, since the coupon system already exists.
PS. The cost would be the same as regular play time. There is no harm to the game in getting money for play time in advance. We would also gain the advantages of giftcards, where half of them are never redeemed. Free money for darkspace!

The dude above me is actually making some sense... We already have the voucher system, so half the work is done already. Just create more coupons in the fashion of needed time, and don't regular 1 week have a time limit on them already? If not, i'm sure 5-10 min of typing wouldn't kill anyone.
This would be cool, and it would help out some people who can't use a credit card in the sense that someone us could take pitty on them without the need to go into their profile or give out our credit numbers to random people...i could go and buy Crim a month of DS time and not think anything more about it....Not that i would, just saying...

Yer right kanman, what i mention isn't even worth mentioning..
But those things come to my mind. First Short term problems, Legal second, and Pre processing evaluation third.
Usually customers stop asking me questions before i'm done with the first and go ask some one else..
I build stuff i think is necessary not what can be done.
And Cas&Mor, you don't need a CC to subscribe to DarkSpace. Heck i never did.
It all depends on yer country of residence and Local law and situation.
I agree about that some can't subscribe because they don't own a CC, live in a country that demands a age to have a payment bank account or problem preventing them to subscribe. that is truly annoying they can't join us but that is life.
Besides if i remember DS tries to be PG-13 (or T by ESRB standards).
Going Legal on that if I where to subscribe a 13 yer old player, what ever that player does without parental supervision. I will be responsible for. Well no thank you.

instead of bickering back and forth just leave this thread alone and let faustus sort it out.
on a side note the 2 buddys of mine are over 30 years old not kids, if i want to give them a 30 day gift voucher or what ever Faustus can make of this that is fine, my paypal account stands ready to give some lov'in

Just a quick reply yes i know the purchase voucher system idea is a old one
but a good idea is still a good idea
If we was going to have one it would have to be dealt with directly by palestart staff and not go through a 3rd party like paypal to keep cost down.
