Why update to Dx10? Lots of games that are still coming out are not supporting Dx10... Dx9 maybe a more realistic goal.

Dx10 is locked to Vista and above, even though 3rd partys have shown you can run Dx10 with 90% compatibility with Windows XP. Its one of Microsofts big gimics to get people to upgrade to Vista over XP... All the Dx10 only games that were coming out...

A year after Vista's release and there was only a handful and many companys, even ones that put out Dx10 games stated they were going back to supporting Dx9 because of the low numbers of actual Dx10 graphics cards and people willing to run Vista...

Anything beyond Dx9 right now would actually deny access to the game for many people using older computers globally.

All darkspace needs is HDR, bloom, and dynamic casting shadows.

Thats all people care about anyway.
