Yeah, so I can't install the DarkSpace client because the "RPC-Server cannot be found". I have no idea what htis means, and Google isn't helping me any farther.
I don't have any previous versions of the DarkSpace client existing on my harddrive. I'm also really only interested in the Lobby, so if someone knows some way to install the DarkSpace Lobby without using the installer, or knows how to fix these RPC-Server shenanigans, I'd be much obliged.

I gathered as much from Google. Do you know of a way to fix these sort of shenanigans, though? (preferably without a clean install)

Start > Run "services.msc"
Remote Prodecure Call (RPC)
Remote Prodecure Call (RPC) Locator
Make sure they're set to "Automatic" in properties, and running (right click > start).

Nicely tried, but no cheese. Still says the RPC-Server is unavailable.

Fixed the problem by re-installing Windows Service Pack 2. Apparently it must've gotten corrupted somehow or another, but the RPC-Server functions now.

Cut me some slack, man, I don't work with your newfangled Win Dose Service Packs.

You already got the problem solved with the solution i would have suggested, but still i would like to say the following.
PRC, "Remote Procedure Call" service. My Favorite service to go nuts.
Since the introduction of NT this has become a essential service of MS windows. Any problem with this service and your bound to experience loads of problems soon.
Known problems causing RPC service to become unstable unavailable:
No access to driver and user library.
Corruption in a active profile.
Circumvention of login procedure (forced Safe mode).
No Write access to registry (Known error given by window 2000 server when terminal clients are trying to install a new program.)
If this problem effects all users on the machine than the recommendations from both MS and myself would be:
Use your installation disk to repair or reinstall the whole operating system.
If it only affects a single user than just delete that entire profile and all possible clones, don't attempt profile recovery.
