just to throw this out there, you dont HAVE to use that shield background. most of the current badges dont.

just used a shield cause its consistant.
the combat medal through engineering dont have it, however the rest of the other 'achievement' ones use the shield as the base (which is why i used them).
any good? ie: should i make more or or go away XD

Id also like to add, as far as commendations go, there could possably be player specific ones.
for example; if the dev's/mod's/gm's could debate and think up specific awards for players that have been here long enough to make a specific impression... such as "Outstanding Tactical Piloting" or whatever.
nominations and decisions would be made behind the scenes, and it would be a surprise to the player to find the commendation suddenly show up in thier profile.
id be very happy to make more subject to aproval for many occasions =)

I like the insignia, although perhaps some more gold/bronze colouring on the lower end ones would be better, as they look a little plain.
