Since Jack always seems to get his hands on new tech before anyone else, how long do you guys think till he has the new Nvidia graphics card?
with 240 CUDA-programmable parallel cores and the industry's first card with 4GB of graphics memory. MSRP? Just $3,499

Nvidia & Jack.

Hmm..
How long was Plutoniums half-life again ? 24 thousand years ?

Still if you want something better try a Quadro Plex,
Those new rack models really look nice, but they draw even more power than a SAN array.

ATI forever, of course.

If only because my Catalyst drivers have firmly embedded themselves somewhere inside my OS and won't come out...

Personally I gave up on ATI after several games I like worked great with NVidia, but ATI couldnt properly render smoke and fog... Screen would just go blocky white and make it unplayable...

Some ATI brand cards should be banned and the creators burned.

Asus ATI cards for example, the cardbord box it comes in has some value the card itself has not.

Jack wouldn't - he'd buy 20 ATI cards to do the job of this one card.

I say Jack has already got it, burned it to the ground on that over driven monster comp I saw him use 4 video cards on once, then shipped it back to Nvidia telling them how much it sucks..

I get given pre hardware - for anyone not in the know, that's hardware pre-release - a lot of hardware gets given to magazines, websites, people all around the world who sign up to the programs, to give feedback and such.

I, myself, am not signed up to these sites, but my friend is. I have a machine that I myself built (nothing fancy, and hasn't been upgraded in a while), and another machine that has pre hardware in. I constantly have to swap bits about and have to nuke the install and is a real pain.

In response to Tael though, the person who gives me the pre hardware doesn't get this sort of hardware. FX5800's and ATI's Fire cards 90% of the time get sent to companies who deal with extreme model rendering, and use clusters to perform their rendering.

So sadly, I don't see myself getting the chance to touch one for a VERY long time

I've also stopped pestering the guy for the latest and greatest. Right now, the machine has two 4850's running in crossfire. Quite frankly, I cannot see the need for a 'better' card. It can run Crysis on max (completely), with a decent CPU. If a £100/$150 card can do that, why bother spending double on something 'better'? Software hasn't caught up yet.

So sadly, gone are the days when I'm posting and boasting the latest and greatest. But I still get my hands on nifty hardware a month or two before you lot do - so ner!

And I'm still waiting on this external Nvidia card - was on the news-rounds about two/three years ago, yet never saw the light of day.
