LATRODECTUS
File access #43: AI Valery- Construct date 2262/6/03: Purpose = ship analyzing. Security systems.
File access #43/1- Record of conflict taking place at New Pakistan.
Fleet L.A.G Attempt to re-taken new Pakistan on 2274/2/24. Two AI took note of the conflict taking place. Valery, the AI onboard Volunteer ship Latrodectus recorded incidents during the battle. L.A.G was unable to take new Pakistan, mainly because there were Two (2) I.C.C support stations orbiting the planet. The purpose of the attack on Pakistan was unknown, L.A.G was sent to liberate it. It was believed that the I.C.C planned on using the planet as a preparation area for an attack on Alpha Centauri. L.A.G was unable to keep the I.C.C from taking the planet. However the attack never took place on Alpha Centauri. A scout team was sent to investigate why. No trace of the I.C.C fleet was present. However U.G.T.O citizens where there, stating something scared them off.

Latrodectus Sensors Picked up a new signal that was not I.C.C or K’luth. Sightings of the new Species (new to Latrodectus) were Extreme. A pirate ship was present as well; the Pirate ship confronted the new ship. In minutes the pirate frig was destroyed. Latrodectus did not linger to be confronted by the new ship. It reported this sighting to Alpha Centauri Security stations. A file was transmitted to Latrodectus.
Transmitted File to Valery: This ship you have encountered is not K’luth, or I.C.C. We have reports of the K’luth calling them the MIR, or Legion. More info will be sent to you.
Reply from ship Ai Valery: Thank you; we will avoid contact with the legion at all costs. If there are more sightings we will report them. Please note that there are pirate ships present as well. One was destroyed by the Legion. We will be reporting to Alpha Centauri within the next 5 hours after our Patrol.

File # 49: Recieved transmission from latrodectus, 1 hour after disapearence- AI Valery reporting, Random jump was needed to avert from Hostile warships. We have sustained heavy damage, and jumpdrive is down. Communications are running at 7% weopons are running at 32% Current cordanence is unkown. Last known location was Near Ringo in Lalende system. I am stating an emergency, we are dead in space, repeat dead in space.

This Message was Recieved at an outpost orbiting Vesper. A scout team has been sent to the location that the transmission came from, but found no trace of Latrodectus.

Ship commander- C. sorensen
History of Latrodectus- Latrodectus was once known as soleris, It was once under the command of Nick coryle. A battle taking place at Espilion carnae between L.A.G and unknown I.C.C forces was occuring, The battle was being lost, Nick orderd a Jump out of the territory, and came across a pirate faction. Later he joined these pirates. However it did not sit well with the crew of the ship. There was a mutany, and After 2 years of piracy. The Crew of latrodectus over through Nick. Then soon after elected a new Commander.

Captain sorensen- residing from the planet Mycopia, Joined the ugto military at age 21. His home was attacked by ICC forces, and he sought revenge. Started as an engineer for the UGTO Ship Spendeck. Then was transfered to Latrodectus when Commander T. clark of spendeck was Forced to resign from his ship, for disobaying orders.

Navigation bage was presented for Continued patrol on outskirts of lalende system.

-Ensign- HQ wanted me to inform you that a ship has been detected moving in on lalende. They Received a message from the ship, Its the latrodectus.
-commander- Are you certain? Latrodectus has been missing for 3 weeks now.
-Ensign- There certain, probes sent video of the ship, Its her battle colours sir. Hq requested that you hold a confrence with other ship commanders, and C. sorensen of the latrodectus, to find out what happend to her during those Three weeks.
-Commander- yes ofcourse. Thank you. you may go.

All i could think about was the questions i would recieve...These would include: When did you encounter the legion exactly, or what happend after your last transmission. To be honest, i was afraid to see the admirals. However i couldnt wait to be back in action. That is if they put me back in....
The large metal door at the end of the confrence room slid open, and four men poured in...and stood staring at me. I imediatly saluted. "at ease, take a seat". I chose the closest one, and possibly the furthest from the admirals. One, placed a file on the table and began to examine it. " so from what i understand C.sorensen, you encountered a legion ship?" I hesitated to answer. "yes sir, there was only one, there was a pirate ship present as well". He wispered something to another officer, and sent him to retrieve coffe. "Tell me what happend between you, the legion, and the pirate ship". I noticed i was slummping back in my seat, and stood up straigher. " The legion ship and pirate where pretty spaced out, they where both facing eachother. I could tell my officers on my ship-"your under the command of Latrodectus correct? Another admiral asked. "um, yes. "please continue son" My officers where getting nervouse, we have never encounterd such a ship before. we where not sure what to do. Suddenly the pirate ship began to move away from the legion ship, and in seconds the legion Destroyed the pirate ship. We did not linger after that. We began to turn around to jump back to lalende space-"wait...your where outside lalende?" I could tell they would punish me for that...." "yes sir, we detected the pirate ship and i decided to investigate". "ofcourse" He responded quickly. "when we where trying to get back to lalende, the legion must have seen us, we took a few hits near our engines". I could tell the admirals where very interested in what i would tell them next. "well, the shots didnt take our engines out. We managed to jump away, but for some reason our cordanence where mest up...we ended up jumping toward the legion ship...and past right by it. We could not abort the jump either. Atleast until we where away from the enemy ship. By the time we repaired our navigations. We had no clue where we were going, We eventually stopped the jump. But our engines were fried. we spent maybe....16 hours trying to fix them. We began to pick up a signal...and thats when we noticed this object...it was huge, it may have been a planet". I lowered my eyes thinking about what i saw...."go on". This planet like object, it was surrounded by Hundreds of these ships....legion ships...
After about 5 hours telling them about how we got home, and our encounters with the legion. One admiral stood up. "well son, i admire your courage, and your decisions...and i am greatfull for all the information, and that you and your crew are alive. However, we cannot afford you a rest, things are heating up in lalende again. We need you there.
I looked up, amazed that they would let me continue my fight.
"you will be under the command of Echo one (angel of wrath). Go now, prepare your ship, and get to Planet yahoo".
Yes sir. I quickly saluted and left the room.
Admiral- we have lost to much....we need to plan an offencive soon.

As we entered alpha centauri, the first thing we noticed was a field of debri.
wrecked ships strung out all over, k'luth and ugto. "what happend here?!" An officer cried out. All the officers on deck where deadly quiet. On the view screen a ugto scout ship could be seen slowly moving through the field. "hail them, now". I had no clue what to think..."captain T.clark on screen sir". My former captain, of the ugto Darkspin looked at me curiously.
Before he could say anything i called out to him. " what happend here captain?" "caugh-caugh, the K'luth~~surprise~~all planets in system fell to~~Alecto~~all thats left~~. Static kept breaking in between sentences, but i could tell what he was trying to say. "where is the remaining fleet?" i asked hastly. "Fell back~~Alecto~~not much remains". I stared at him, i could tell he was tired. The officers on my ship all looked frightened. "Navigations...?" "yes sir?" "avert jump to Alecto immediatly".
"aye sir". As we began to rotate the ship, another object came into veiw.
The officers on deck marveld at its glory. It was the ugto Echo-One*P5*(Angel Of Wrath). The Battle cruiser easely could have crushed our small carrier. Suddenly its weopons where charging up, and it released a volley of torps in the other direction. Not long after, some projectiles smashed against the heavy plating of the cruiser. It charged and fired another round of missiles and torpedoes. Then suddenly an explosion could be seen behind her in the distance. Everyone on the deck cried out a victory cheer. However it didnt last when the Darkspin suddenly took some hits. "Turn us around now!, arm Rail cannons, and prepare bording craft". "Aye sir!". Everyone finally looked like they where happy to be in the battle agian. "Match the darkspins speed". we began to accelerate quickly, and before we knew it we were traveling side by side. A k'luth ship could be seen moving torwards us. It looked like a dread. "Slow us down, and activate ecm". We, well i was hoping the ship hasnt noticed us yet. It took about three full minutes to get close enough. "prepare to release boarding craft". The officers looked tense. Suddenly the ship broke off, and less then 10 seconds after it exploded. The officers let out another victory cry, and we noticed another ugto ship close by. The Dionysian *EP5* (Angel of Destruction). "scan for targets". More shots could be heard close by, then another explosion. I was hoping it was a K'luth that got destroyed. Suddenly the commander of Dionysian *EP5* (Angel of Destruction) Hailed us. "Latrodectus, report to alecto immediatly to deliver infantry to the surface, K'luth ships have landed there, and we nee the infantry". "Aye sir!" Turn us to Alecto". It was going to be a long day.

Whats wrong with reading? ha no matter. I will be happy to inform you that i am working on a Video SERIES. For darkspace. I think you will be happy with it. But please, be nice about the story. And as for bardich, i know some spelling is off ok, it was a quick spir of the moment kinda thing i didnt have time for spelling. i just typed it. >>.<<

small tip: put dialogs in a seperate line, itll ease the reading. kinda hard to make out whats being said and whats narrative

"sir, exiting jump to alecto in 5". I wasnt sure what to expect at Alecto, knowing it was the final strong point here in lalende. As we left jump and everything came into view it was just a mess. "Sir 35 k'Luth ships detected!". "raise the alarm, all battle stations, Defcon 1.". Everyone tensed up quickly". Debri was everywere, K'luth ships and ugto ships strung all over the place, missiles being fired from Alecto, and Torps being fired in all directions. "Allied ship count?" I demanded. "Sir, we have 26 ships in the area, we are outnumbered heavily". I let out a sigh, "we will fight to the end". They all looked at me as if i was crazy, maybe i was. I just couldnt do what our former commander did. Run. "prepare boarding craft, head for that dread". The ship accelerated quickly. " Activate ECM, and Charge rail guns". Suddenly a k'luth stealth ship coursed by and was in flames, it was so bright everyone had to shield there eyes. The pilots of the ship must either be dead or stunned from torpedo blows. The Alien ship crashed into the side of a command dread. It exploded, and Debri began to shoot in all directions. "Break off!" our ship began to turn and we took some debri into the side. "Damage report". "Hardly any sir, armor is holding good." "good, get us back on course with the enemy ship". We got close enough to unload our Boarders, But before we could we where hailed. "Latrodectus, I am the fleet admiral of Saturn shadow. You must keep your infantry for now, go to the other side of Alecto and send your troops to the ground". "Yes sir!, Break off our attack, set course for Jaladis peninsula". We began to move around the planet, and the whole thing was just caos. "Have we lost anything yet?". "sir, the whole fleet is still here, The K'luth are taking heavy casualties". We began to come around the other side of Alecto only to be met by one of the most feared things by the ugto. A support Station.
-Ground side-
"Fall back! repeat Fall back!"
"sir! we are surrounded, theres no where to go!"
"Curse it all!"
Sargeant mikey L. coral was fighting these bastards for days now. He wasnt about to lose. He just wouldnt allow it.
"Take firing positions, and get me the fleet above!"
The lobster like aliens must have been getting a kick out of this, its to bad they dont know there getting there arses kicked in orbit.
"Sir, ive got them".
"This is sargeant coral, im calling for a strike, we are surrounded".
"Roger, this is Saturn shadow, we have reinforcements on there way".
"I need them now!"
"I understand, we are doing are best."
Off in the distant sky some Small bombers could be seen, escorting a few transports. The ships flew right by us, dropping there "presents" as they went by. The aliens scattered in all directions.
"Open fire!" Lobster after lobster went down. Then the transports came down on top of them crushing a few, scattering the rest in the directions they came. we had them surrounded now. Out of the transports came heavy tanks, and infantry, On the side of the tanks shown a Blackwidow spider, along with the markings of the vca fleet. I just had to ask, "What ship to you hail from?". The soldier grinned at me, and said."latrodectus, we are his venom".
-Back in orbit-
As the last of the small transport ship left the bay, we turned on the k'luth station. "Prepare guns, charge lasers". "Charged!". I took in a small breath, and exhaled. "FIRE!". Blue lights left our ship trailing towards the monsterous ship. We knew it wouldnt do much, but the plan was to get its attention. It turned on us and fired. Everything went white.

After maybe 5 minutes my vision returned. "personal count". The officer was caughing. "All acounted for sir". I looked back to see the K'luth station still there, but our plan must have worked, she was on fire on her south side. The glory of the 2 UGTO command dreads flying by releasing missiles could be seen clearly. My observations were inturupted. "sir, we have fires on lower decks 23-28". "notify fire crews". I looked back at the enemy station just in time to see it take some more hits. I was astonished to see how much damage the behemoth could take. It returned fire, but its targeting must be down, all the shots missed. The dreads fired once more, and she began to crack in four pieces. Exploding from the inside. "good, ok. Navigations, turn us back to the main battle". we turned around and came face to face with a K'luth transport. "open fire". This time i was able to be calm about it. our shots smashed into the side of the alien ship. She began to turn and run. "Tail her, keep firing". We took on to much damage from the station, one of our guns was out, and our armor was at 64%. we were able to inflict some damage to the transport, but it jumped away. along with 22 other K'luth ships.
I looked at the remains of the battle, and everywhere, a K'luth ship stood still, destroyed, or dying. The battle was ours.
In 4 hours, all enemy infantry on the ground would be destroyed.
In 6 hours, our fleets will have regrouped.
in 12 hours, we begin our retaliation.
In 2 weeks....WE RECLAIM LALENDE.
And the only casualties....3 ships. opposed to 64 K'luth ships.
