For those of you keeping up to date with net stuff, you'll already know...

For those of you who don't (and I fathom a guess that'll be quite a lot of you), Google have released a new browser (beta) unto the world.

I think it's nifty and re-thinks many of the things that we've come to 'need' in current browsers (like the search window in IE7 and Firefox2/3).

I love this browser, and have migrated over to it. It doesn't have any extensions like Firefox at the moment, but Google will release the API for web developers to create extention-like applications for Chrome.

It's pretty speedy (faster than any browser I've ever used anyway (including Opera). It comes with a neat little task manager that shows you what pages are chewing up your precious memory and CPU usage.

Check it out here!

- Jack

I took a look at that comic book they did, the one they "accidentally" leaked to a third party, and it really looks like they've put a lot of thought behind making this browser.

Definitely going to give it a try.

Just took a screenshot of the memory usage thing, noticed there's a stats for nerds link and clicked on it - this browser is insane. It even has a source viewer to show what CSS and WC3 errors you have in your HTML...

Image here.

There's also an incognito mode (which you can open in a new window):

You've gone incognito. Pages that you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files that you download or bookmarks that you create will be preserved, however.

Going incognito doesn't affect the behaviour of other people, servers or software. Be wary of:
Websites that collect or share information about you
Internet service providers or employers that track the pages that you visit
Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
Surveillance by secret agents
People standing behind you

Awesome browser full of little funny bits. I even uninstalled it on my old machine, and it gave me the message "So you want to uninstall Google Chrome? Was it something we said? [Yes] [No]".

Just win.

Installed it earlier today, and it's rather awesome.

Faster then every other browser, and it's got a few neat things. My favorite is the download thing at the bottom, hahah. For some reason it's just nice.

Tried it, liked it a lot, but at present it has a few dealbreakers for me... among them, no Recently Closed Tabs, or at least one I can easily find, can't pan large zoomed-in images with mousewheel, and it seems to really slow down when you have a lot of image tabs up. I browse a lot of webcomics and art pages in large tabbed groups... so, sticking with Firefox for now, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

Hmm, might give it a try. Already not liking the new Firefox so I might be due for a change.

Oh, and hi!
