Dude, how can you say you're not impressed with a movie that you haven't seen? I'd guess you probably mean you've seen the clips & trailers and weren't that motivated to see it?

I think they're really flooding the movie market with super-hero flicks. It's not that this is bad, it's just that "everyone" seems to be trying to get in on the winning money making combination and it's likely the market is going to move to 'burn out' mode pretty soon. Some movies were better than others - some were exactly what you'd expect.

Of all the comic based movies this year, Iron Man was easily the best, until The Dark Knight came out. Me personally, I use a four point scale solely based on how I really value that particular movie...ie, do I put my money where my mouth is. That scale is:

Go See in Theater
Wait to Rent it
Wait for it to be on cable free

The fourth level is actually buying the movie. Obviously, one of the above three items *may* occur first before I buy it although sometimes not.

Iron Man, for me, was a "see in theater and buy it soon"
Hell Boy 2 was a 'see in theater'
The Dark Knight (easily the best comic based movie this year) is definately a 'see it in theater, maybe twice, and buy it soon'
Meet Dave - wait for rental or cable
Mamma Mia! - watch on cable only if forced
Speed Racer - wanted to see in theater, probably waiting for cable
Indiana Jones - theater
Zohan - (bad but funny) - saw in theater, should have waited for cable
The Incredible Hulk - didn't like - saw in theater, should have waited for rental
Get Smart - saw in theater, greatly exceeded expectations

okay, im sorry, but,

#30) SERENITY - Writer/director Joss Whedon adapted his little-seen but much-beloved sci-fi/Western TV series "Firefly" into a little-seen but much-beloved movie.

deserves better spot

#28) I AM LEGEND - In the most recent adaptation of Richard Matheson's classic novel, Will Smith battles not only an army of mindless, light-sensitive killers but also the solitude that threatens to drive him mad.

shouldnt be on there

#27) DONNIE DARKO - A true mind bender. "Donnie Darko" spins the twisted tale of a disaffected teen told by a guy in a freaky rabbit costume that the world will end in 28 days.

this movie doesnt have any "mind bending" plot - its totally random and senseless

#3) TRANSFORMERS - In this film about giant evil robots that can turn into cars battling good robots that can also turn into cars, Michael Bay does what he does best -- wreck vast amounts of property with really cool explosions.

terrible movie. the action scenes were impossible to follow (omg! bits of car flying past the screen!) and the rest of it was laughable. also, i dont think you can pretend there arent giant robots on your planet after they destroyed a city in front of thousands of people. kthanksbye

#1) IRON MAN - The combination of good direction, great acting by Robert Downey Jr. and a seriously cool story has launched this summer blockbuster to the top of the charts. Is there a movie not on the list that should be? Let us know in the comments below.

could be on here, but definitely not number 1 at all. more hype has been made over the Dark Knight than this movie.

Only first of the Xmen should be here too.

what should be on here:

Children of Men

I'd argue that the second X-men was a pretty decent film. Granted, maybe not to the degree of deserving to be on a list of 30, but Singer did a good job. The third one, in comparison, was awful...(damn Superman)

As for Children of Men:

Hell yes.

Also, where is Star Trek 2? Doesn't matter if you don't like Star Trek, Wrath of Khan is just legendary.

Most importantly though: WHERE THE HELL IS GATTACA?

Gattaca, like 1984, is not considered fiction anymore since the likely hood of it happening is now somewhere between 99.9 to 100 per cent.

Yes, and hopefully it's along the lines of: "I was only joking"

Personally, I thought Equilibrium was awful.

I'll agree with Sythe on Mooltipass, though.

I'd like to see Gattaca, all I know about it is it gets its name from using bases.
