Y'know what would be interesting... is if there was a special ship that did nothing but build jump-gates, and it could only build one gate for each system that didn't have one, and the gates were destructible, thus giving players the ability to sever the bridge between systems. Oh, and to balance it out, the ship could only be used by those with extremely high ranks.

I guess it would have other features too, like gate-busting power, the ability to travel between systems in an instant using a sub-dimension of time and space which would create a path that's shorter than a straight line, an extra cup-holder...

The point is, I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but I think I'm on to something here.

would be a nice idea, but i think maby later when we finaly got decent playerbase

p.s. Coden about 484 wormholes check this Topic, last post from doran.
Either use a Jumpgate, You all longjump and got suppies, or you all team up around a Station/Command dread and WH to that system.

p.s. Anti-Akatsuki™, your almost like a person desperate to Post for the sake of posting and gaining a post ?

......What if their were no gates, and players had to build their own gates that could both take damage and be capturable, like planets?

Well, that's kind of the idea, Nanatsu. Do away with all the default gates. It's all too easy to get into enemy territory. And, because of that, fleets could capture planets, even entire systems behind enemy lines easily, and leave their own home base vulnerable to attack. There's no front-line struggle, because there's no front line.

Jump ranges are so tiny now. You can get about 4 systems in a frigate and run dry.

Wormholes are now for intra-system usage.

So really, how are fleets getting behind enemy lines? Long jumping? Thats really hard with the low fuel and drone ammounts

If implemented i would sugest placing a GU limit.
Otherwhise you can have a jump gate inside your home system to EVERY other system.

From Sol to CD in one jumpgate ?? no tank you.

No, you don't understand... I said it can build only one gate for each system that doesn't have one.... wait, actually it should be two... but still... I'm not talking about like 50 gates in one system.
