well they could have actually programmed it to solve it, or they could have just programmed the robot to "solve" only that specific setup.

It actually says in the video description that the puzzle-solving algorithm was written by someone else. Even then, constructing a machine that can observe and manipulate a Rubik's cube, interpret the data and apply it to the algorithm, and then apply the resulting data to physically solve the puzzle, is an impressive feat.

Although, it's not nearly as impressive as someone actually mocking someone else for being capable of the aformentioned feat. To be so preoccupied with yourself that you'd sooner laugh at a potentially great contributor to society- the same society you live in- than congratulate them, shows that you have an extremely well-developed sense of short-term self preservation. Hats off to Leeroy and Dark Scorpion...

The great irony is that when your ability keep yourself on top of the situation fails, the machine saving your life will be made by someone like this machine's creator.

well i would agree with what because i was not mocking the creator of the robot or the program used to solve the puzzle....i just thought the little kid was annoying. indeed such intelligence is impressive.

1) Rubiks cubes are easy to solve, my best solve is 1 minute 12 seconds. You just need to learn how to do it, and/or look up algorithms to solve it. 2) Speed cubers (yes, the world record holders) memorize a ton of ways to solve a scrambled cube looking at each unique scramble throroughly and then remember the quickest way to solve it (world record is 9.55 seconds). 3) The description says that the robot in other videos can solve more complex scrambles, so maybe it is actually a very complicated robot.

Clearly I've come up with no answer, but it either solves an exact scramble every time, has a person behind it solving it remotely, or is an incredibly complex and impressive invention. Either way, I wonder who puts the effort into a rubiks cube solving robot.
