Is there any chance that the beta server setup could be changed from the scenario type map rotation, to a persistent map similar to the fleetwars server? With the map rotation I spend whatever hours I have just building a SY planet and waiting for resources to accumulate, and then the map changes wiping out everything I've done.

Or is there any chance that prebuilt SY planets could be added so that ships can be tested directly?

Thanks.

Lets wait till beta is ready for testing first, but yes when its ready I've no doubt they'll go back to a mostly persistant state.

What coeus said. If I remember correctly, the last beta had a prebuilt map that had a "don't bomb" limit on it, and was consistent

Cant (currently) set the map to be persistant
Cant (currently) set up prebuilt planet for the same reason

I think the no prebuilt SYs and non-persistent map is a good thing.

Maybe after everyones tested the smaller ships and such, and how they handle, they'll put something like old beta servers up.

Yes, eventually there will probably be a pre-built map up and running.

But last version had a severe shortage of testing of small ships (note their balance now as proof) because with SYs, everyone just wanted to fight in their dreads and whatnot. So there's a nice unintended benefit to not having SYs up all the time.

Don't worry; if we organize any dedicated testing weekends or periods, we'll have a better infrastructure for testing at that point.
