The following was inspired by real life events:
14:00 Hours Day 1
Sol System
Earth
The 1st Rear Admiral sat back down at his desk after several minutes of pacing across his office. He took a sip of his freshly brewed coffee and peered at the paper sitting on his desk, the paper that had changed everything. Finally, he put his reading glasses back on and read the orders a third time.
1st Rear Admiral Nate9090 you are hearby ordered to make all haste to the cruiser "Firestorm" in order to take command. You are then to proceed to the Procyon A system where you shall commence naval operations. You are further ordered to facilitate the destruction or capture of all kluth encountered. ban on MIRV bombs has been lifted for your operation.

"I am sorry sir, but I have received no orders to grant you permission to load restricted weapons." the commander stated for the second time. Nate9090 stood dumbfounded with his mouth open for a second before becoming furious.
"I am a First Rear Admiral. You are a Commander. I am your superior officer. I am giving you orders, now, to grant me access to all weapons in this armory. RIGHT NOW!" Nate doubted that the commander had been yelled at like this since his training in the naval academy and it worked.
"Yes sir."
03:00 Hours Day 9

Nate9090 watched the impact on the view screen. The entire CIC had stopped what they were doing and stared, some in horror, others in awe. The MIRVs stabbed into various points on the planet leaving scars visible from space. Several billion bugs had perished in an instant, there was no way to be sure how many. What was on the crew's mind however, was that this was not the first, nor the last the very same day, but just another target.
12:00 Hours Day 21
Procyon A
Deep Space
Twelve. It was such a small, yet large number. It was how many planets that had been purified. Nate9090 sat at his desk as he reviewed the target designations and threat assessments, and disliked what he read. Their was a growing call for return to friendly space. One of the main reasons was because the kluth would most likely be looking for any threats, and strike while they were most vulnerable, during a bombing run. The Rear Admiral quickly began to become angry. se upstart officers will not rob me of my revenge. Those bugs murdered my entire family and I will be dammed if we stop now, we still have half a cargo hold full of MIRVs.With that he stood up and left his quarters prepared to bring his officers to his thinking, one way or another.
11:00 Hours Day 23
Procyon A
Near Dalexia
"Pressure loss in deck 12! Coolant leak on Cannon 3! Bulkhead ruptured in cargo ba...URGH!" A panel exploded slamming into the speaker and knocking him to the floor unconscious. The ship shuddered once again and the lights went out, to be replaced by the emergency lights a few seconds later.
"Set Bearing 232 Now." Nate9090 ordered quickly.
"Yes Sir. Bearing 232."
"Engage Emergency Jump!"
18:00 Hours Day 39

Earth
"Rear Admiral Nate9090 please come in." The room was filled with several old antiques, including an old chem-powder handgun mounted on one wall. The Grand Admiral motioned toward the chair and nate9090 sat in it without a sound. "As you have already heard, the orders you recieved, had you bothered to confirm them, were false." The look on Nate9090's face did not change and he nodded slightly. "Because of the destruction and...dare I call it genocide of so many kluth, they have stepped up operations against us." The Grand Admiral paused and lit a cigar. "I am sorry, but, obviously there is going to be a court-martial."

The Fleet Admiral flipped threw one of the many folders laying on his desk, and laying in boxes throughout his office. "This is quite alot of inside information. I suppose you will want something in return for it?"
Nate9090 smiled and simply said "A command. A good one."
"Very well. Vice Admiral Nate9090, welcome to the Interstellar Cultural Confederation Navy."

Must say probably the most creative way someone has posted their intents to change sides. Although as a K'luth pilot your name is now well know amoung the HIVE. Beware we could be right behind you at any moment....

you realy should have been kept up to date with those UGTO classified memmo's
o btw tank you for delivering those letters to the ICC.
mail from UGTO to ICC isn't allowed and i think my mom and friends on minuete might love to hear from me.
