Celestial Event

An extraordinary event has occurred in the Tripwik system only hours ago! UGTO patrol fleets discovered a roaming planetoid, cast asunder into space by the death of its star, drifted in towards the Tripwik stars. The intense heat melted the planet into a brutal inferno. Then, something incredible happened. The planetoid hit an invisible patch of dark matter, which suddenly and drastically increased its density. The planetoid began to collapse, as if to turn into a black hole. However, the planetoid swiftly drifted away from the invisible dark matter, and the implosion reverse into an extraordinary explosion, converting the entire planetoid into a burst of pure blue light. After the blinding glare faded, there was nothing left of the planetoid.

Minor damage was suffered to the sensors of the patrol fleet. The patrol fleet was monitoring for ICC spy ships trying to enter UGTO territory. There is now a possibility that an ICC spy vessel may have made it by. Security measures across the entire UGTO territory are stepping up to Code Yellow. Repairs to the sensors have already been completed and spy ship scans have resumed.

Three images were gathered before the powerful energy wave damaged UGTO sensors.

Image 1: The planetoid as it begins to explode.

Image 2: The planetoid expands into a ball of light.

Image 3: The planetoid converts completely into blue light energy before fading away completely.

I would check all crew maning those sensor relay/stations - blue light is close to the x-ray and gamma ray portion of the wavelength spectrum. Would be bad if all those trained personel died from radiation poisioning, eh?

There have been reports of crewmen's fingers and legs falling off, but we just thought they were be whiny little babies looking for some workman's compensation.
