I picked up BF2142 about 3 weeks back, and as you can probably see by my sig, I kinda like it.

Everyone who plays it gimme your Xfire.

And yeah Jack, I know that EA sucks at coding and makes buggy games and all that, but it's still fun even though I have to run it at absolute minimum settings (even though I can play HL2 at 1024x768 with all detail settings maxed out, just no AA/aniso). Oh well. Still fun.

If the game would stop CTD'ing before the splashscreen, I'd play with you... it just started doing this, rawr.

Windows XP, 1,7 GHz CPU, 512Mb RAM, 2,2Gb HD Space, 128Mb graphics card(supported chipsets are nVidia GeForce 5800 or newer, and ATi Radeon 9500 or newer), DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card, DirectX 9.0c drivers, 128kbps internet connection or faster, a keyboard and a mouse and a 8x speed DVD drive.

That reads in the case of the game. But I tested it myself with about the specs stated in the case, and it wouldnt run properly even on MINIMUM settings with NO SOUND, although I did have an unsupported video card(ATi Radeon 9200).

I now have 2,08GHz CPU, 1,5gb RAM, nVidia GeForce 7600 GS, and it runs pretty nicely even with graphics maxed.

You need serious memory to play the game anywhere near max settings - 2GB is a MUST if you want to play it on Medium > High. Bare in mind that the engine is one of the most buggy engine's ever designed, and has horrible memory leaks - so you want atleast 1GB memory minimum.

The game's just not worth playing at anything less than medium settings, and a high res

I play it on max settings with a 3.3GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM, and a GeForce 7800 GS. However, Jack speaks the truths, memory leak is incredibly terrible. Probably have to restart after 5 or 6 hours of gameplay.

Don't let them fool you. I have a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 (yeah, I know), 1GB of RAM and a Radeon 9600 Pro and can just barely run it acceptably at ABSOLUTE MINIMUM settings.

Still fun though. Graphic's aren't everything.
