I agree, the ED/PD, to my understanding was meant to be an escort/PD destroyer, changing beam weapons to cannons makes it a Pocket battleship
lock the beam weapons that come stock@spawn to the ship, so u can only upgrade weapons

hey i got a better Solution to this little Fiasco with EDs/PD's DONT USE THEM PERIOD! and heres a little sample i took from the ROC: All Players should adhere to the Code of Sportsmanship.
As a game involving more than one Player, all Players should abide by this prime rule: Be honest and fair to one another at all times; win well and lose well; and always keep in mind that it IS just a game. Have fun and share it.

as long as it's in the game, it will be used
Only way is to either fix/balance it or remove it completely.
And no, it's not against the roc to use it. that has been said several times. it's just lame, but lameness is allowed.

rofl! Don't you guys realise that you are not bringing up a new isssue to the devs. They know about it, they hear abou it every day, and are probably sick and tired of reading about it. If something was going to be done I think they would of done it a long time ago. Stop talking to them like they are dumb..."Just delete few lines of code" or, ..."Just add/remove a yellow $" . Seriously just wait for the next patch because they have made it clear enough by leaving things the way they are for a year and half that they wont change anything major like that until next patch.
I tend to just ignore them(ed/pd) ingame untill I am forced to attack one. Deal with it, and just savor that taste of glory everytime you send one of those ED/PD to their death.
