Figured this fit best in Fan Fiction, even tho it really happened.... War stories and all...

Anyway, today there was a HUGE battle in the ICC home system between the ICC and UGTO. The UGTO were MASSIVELY dominant throughout the entire battle. Though the ICC caused brutal damage to several ships, they just couldnt muster the fighter power into a working fleet enough to turn the tide of the battle.

What started as literally just me in a bomber scout, keeping the ICC rebuilding efforts off balance, turned into a HUGE fleet of dreads, cruisers, supply ships, frigates, and eventually a few stations.

I have GOT to hand it to the ICC on this one though. Absolutely stunning resolve to fight for your system. Your ships were evaporating in combat, and getting QST snipered while at planets. Yet STILL you kept coming back and back and back, after one death followed by the next, for HOURS and HOURS. I can say that most UGTO players would NOT have been so stubborn over the Sol system.

This battle was also great for 2 more reasons. 1st there were NO dictors on either side (short of the one ICC got, but that was handled quickly and that was that).

And the second reason was the MASSIVE swarm of Gaifens that kept jumping the UGTO fleet. There must have been 15 of them at a time, and they just dropped like flies, 5 and 10 at a time. Lagged like crazy but was still really cool!

I got screenies of the gaifen swarm and the LONG list of them dying one after the next. I post them when i get them uploaded to imageshack in a bit.

Good game all, and good battle ICC.

UGTO only likes battles they win and gain massive prestige on; UGTO wouldnt fight for any system like that because they would lose prestige.

Thats why it was a great battle! All those battle stations likely hunkered up a good bit of prestige that battle.

the battle stations actually showed to the battle rather late, and didnt get much action at all.

Bah. Wish I was there. You should've spawned a lot more Gaifens.....

I think I spawned about 80 all told. They were coming in waves of 10, for the curious.
