Ants love electrical devices especially in Winter months.... It's Heat.

ants are nothing! flies are the ones that need to die! they fly around in circles aimlessly, eating poo. hell they waste all their energy flying pointlessly that we wouldnt have world hunger without them!

Technically speaking, there is no true way to 'permanently' get rid of ants. There are ways to reduce or completely remove the number of ants in your home through sprays, traps, etc.
Pretty much, you have to deal with the fact that you will have ants.
Now you have to decide pretty much "How am I going to get rid of the ants that DO get inside?" and thats pretty much the strand of logic.
Personally, I use soap and water in a spray bottle. xD It works on flies, but it also annoys the hell out of ants.

Ive used Ant Cups they work really well, after about 1 week with the ant cups the ants should be all gone

1. Boil a kettle, pour down the hole.
2. Get your 11 year old son, to sit in the garden with magnifying glass. Yes its slow, but it keeps him occupied during the summer hols. 
3. boil another kettle for survivors
