i would have preferred HP to buy Alienware than Dell. At least HP's have PCI-E slots.

Did you even bother to READ THE ARTICLE?! Alienware is now a subsidiary of Dell, but nothing will really change, except now that Alienware has a LOT more money to work with. Alienware said that their computers won't be marked with anything Dell nor will they stop producing all their current PCs.

They will continue to behave just about the way they've always have.

This actually benefits Alienware because now they have monetary backing from Dell along with their manufacturing facilities so you'll actually get your computer FASTER than before. They will still have all their AMD machines, so any fears that those will disappear are misplaced.

The only downside would be that their tech supports would be merged, and all Alienware customers will be doomed to have to talk to "Chuck" from "Ohio".

Also, it makes dell look a little better to the untrained eye. Dell will be selling more machines now beacuse people will probobly think Alienware is putting stuff into Dells. Dude, you got a Dell. lol. I have a dell. I wont tell you wich model though, youd laugh at me.

Dudes I have a Dell XPS and is not bad at all, so I have nothing bad to say about Dell.

I happily accepted my Dell 4550 two or three years ago & have been modding it myself ever since - I've nothing bad to say either. Like TBoner said, only good comp maker is yourself... I guess that makes me an OK one because I took an average generic comp & am turning it into an uber gaming system that'll last me the rest of the decade, easily.

Self made p'cs are usuly best, you can make them with what you want, what you need, you can custumize it and even more. But, as for Alienware, Dell, HP and others brands. I stay with MAC

I think I would have rather seen them go to HP myself also... the Online tech support is first rate... much better that Dell has.... my 4 yo HP is still cranking away... all I have to do is upgrade a couple things and it is right back up there in modern world...
