Hey guys i'm looking to buy a new pc. Since judging by your post you guys are more up to date on the best systems to have. I was wondering what i should get with a budget of about 1,500. Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 - $1100 US 3 1/2 years ago.

I'm planning to buy a new Computer pretty soon, and will likely get another Dell. Probably an XPS 600 - $1600-$4900.

Since you have a $1500 budget look at the XPS 400 starting at about $1200. I have no doubt there are better systems, and no doubt there are worse. However this Dell has been good for me, for the most part, and since I already have an account with them, I'll most like get another.

Don't go Nvidia at the moment. Their cards suck.
Don't go Intel, their CPU's suck.

Try and get an AMD 64 3500+, or around that for a processor. Also, try to couple it with ATLEAST 1GB of memory, two 512MB sticks would be perfect, so they can run in dual channel. Also, try find a X1900XT, they're a bit expensive, but that thing can run ANYTHING you throw at it. And I mean ANYTHING. FEAR at maximum settings, with no slow down. It just waltzed through anything. As far as sound, try get an Audigy X-Fi, EAX 5, it just rocks.

Appart from that, motherboard-wise, an ASUS SLI-Delux is a nifty little board with a lot of things on it.

I have a Dell too. 4700. Now, if I tell you guys this, dont laugh, ok? I amazed my computer runs this game as well as it does. I have a Pentium 4 HT 2.8gh, Integ graphics, Integ audio, 256 ram, and, wait for it, dont laugh, 8 MEGS GARPHICS MEM! Yes. I can set it to 1, but who would? I was thinking about buying a graphics card soon. and more ram. in that order.

I'll back Jack up on that nvidia/intel.

Go with an AMD processor of the newest socket generation, which is 939... and make it Dual Core if you can. The fastest dual core are around $700-1000 right now, and if you get a cheap Dual Core you can get a reasonable PCI express video card and then some fast ram (Corsair XMS!) and a good mobo (ASUS!!) to boot.

...Build your own system if you can. You'll save loads over Dell/Alienware/anyone else.
