This is an interesting article posted on http://www.gamespy.com about MMO's and the possible futures of the gaming industry.

Particular areas of interest are where they talk about first and second generation MMO's, and the gradual changes we are seeing in MMO distribution and payment schemes. It well worth reading.

After over 25 years of making games from the very dawn of the computer game industry, this past weekend Ultima creator Richard Garriott received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. His brother Robert Garriott is also an industry veteran -- although not in the spotlight as often -- with decades of experience in the biz side of the equation. Jokingly the two brothers talk about the "light side" and the "dark side" of producing games. These days both brothers work for NCSoft, with Richard creating his next big MMOG (Tabula Rasa) while Robert serves as President and CEO of NCSoft's North American division.
