Was in the MV in a scout, I died 3 times, 2 times to friendly fire thanks to an Ion Cannon, 2nd time I was 950 gu away from the target and even further away from my teammate....I somehow think the (splash?) damage is a bit too high

[random newb who's never flown with ships higher than picket destroyers]

IM(Very)HO,
I think it's good QST, IC, and II (or SI??)(the red one) do as much as they do. They should be feared; the EAD, from what I've heard, had a 'cut' in firepower, to carry the QST, so the QST should hurt, so should others I guess.

And? I have smacked 4 ships into planets in the last 6 hours. FF and splash damage should be the least of your concerns as a n00b.

I was about 1900 gu away and fired it at Fatal Commands Station (I had to do it FC!!)

I didn't know you were buzzing him until I looked on F2 to see if he had any ICC around him..............you were dead before I could type QST!!

I finally just took the thing off and put it in my Cargo

I think Ive killed more friendlies than enemies with core weapons, but frankly, thats a hazard you take when you fly near a big enemy ship anyway. If thats the only thing I can hit with my QST, and I say "Look out, Im gonna set us up the bomb!" and you fly over there anyway...Sorry...

Though the other 50 or so guys Ive killed on my team didnt usually deserve it, and I set up endowments to their widows and families.

Hmm... in my subscribed time in this version, I've killed many a small friendly ship with QSTs from my Battlestation.

yeah I killed a bit of friendlies myself...Its annoying though not being able to fire qst cause of some scout duking it out with a dred. Its their fault not ours

there is little answer ... if there are so powerfull weapons to wipe ship in single blast ...

what's point of existance of such ships ...

in any army will be such vehicle either quickly upgraded to alive or removed from service ... that takes time so such units will be ordered to stay away from any bigger ship to avoid endless losses ...

of course ... kamikaze / fanatic races fearing no losses are exception ...

anyway text above not matter that are just some of my minds ...

True enough, Dwarden, but having small ships fear dreadnoughts would be a welcome return.

Last night there were a relatively large group of ICC ships, quite spread out, but one little IC misfire and we all suffered a noticable amount of damage. Quite funny at the time, but in combat I do think the splash is a bit excessive.

I dont have to fear the hostile dreads more than those friendly dreads...thats the problem...

Small ships can move and do little damage, big ships can hurt and move slower.
There are plenty of vehicles that can be blown up by a 1 nice explosive weapon
