I did that a month ago...
Nvidia don't have the drivers to support 2x SLI config...
ATI do though.

Apparently they do.
Not to mention the fact that if nVidia wanted to do a 4x SLI rig, I'd imagine they could probably come up with the funding.
I mean, the 7800 at current is king of the market after all, and yes yes I know "but ATI got something better coming out in x years!!" but right now nVidia is king of the hill.
