why not. if there not hardcore spec freaks or heavy gamers a Nvid card is good enough.
the best on specs is ATI every one knows that.
and the best preformance in games ass well.
ok Nvidia is the best in graphic, render and modeling but that only apply's for the PRO GFX cards and nobody unless you have loads of monney can buy those things.

No..
ATI have the better cards and have done for 3 generations now.
ATI have speed, and far more advanced architecture than Nvidia cards. A X850XT and a Crossfire card will outperform a two SLI 6800's easily.
ATI have hardware directx9, which is far, far more powerfull than software directx9, which is what Nvidia cards have. A lot of games are CPU dependant nowerdays, like D3, Half-Life 2, and such. If you want future proofing, go ATI, in a few months, full dx9 games will run poorly on all Nvidia systems, untill they start moving over to Hardware dx9.
But, like I was saying
The 9600XT, and the x600xt, both outperform the Nvidia cards in midspec.
