I have had a great new idea for darkspace! I beleive if you were to create another darkspace like a darkspace II than you would have a lot more players coming to play the game! I am also curious if you would find this a good idea as well, Darkspace II: Shattered Galaxy. I have an entire... manual typed up with a whole new alien race as well as one human faction, the legion, and the new k'luth empire. if you would like specifics just respond to this (its my dads email lol).

Thank You for looking at this and if you would like a copy of the typed manual just request it and i will copy paste it to this forum, even though it is not the most efficient way to get it here. (here is a little taste of the new game, dont have models yet and probably wont be able to get them cause school it starting, but they will be completed)

V’ladmir: The formation of the Confederacy: The V’ladmir are a race of beings that have a peaceful nature and are not a warlike society. However, they are quite willing to defend themselves if their culture or way of life comes under attack from alien or known forces. In the past millennia, the V’ladmir have fought a series of wars to protect their home planet of Varda. During these wars the V’ladmir encountered the cause of these wars, the Legion, another reigning power in the known galaxy. While the Legion focused its attacks on the K’luth, another alien race the V’ladmir encountered, the V’ladmir performed relief operations to break apart the Legion Empire from the inside out. Since the V’ladmir had been isolated from the Galaxy as the Humans had, they were able to develop a significant amount of technology on their own, including the fearsome Kano’ost, or in a rough translation, meaning “Command Fortress” that is a mobile shipyard, so to speak. The kano’ost could construct huge fleets and serve as a mobile resupply point for any major operations in most sectors. Using these huge “command fortresses”, the V’ladmir managed to expand their growing Confederacy into a massive amount of territory, mostly seized from old K’luth planets or Legion worlds. After the V’ladmir put the Legion invasion of the K’luth to a stop, the V’ladmir began to mobilize a gigantic armada to defend the new boarders of the Confederacy, and due to the number of worlds freed by them that had other indigenous life forms inhabiting saved worlds, the V’ladmir ships were crewed with a variety of life forms, though mostly humanoids in appearance. Over the next 10 years the V’ladmir increased the size of the Confederacy by almost 4/10 its original size, making it a Union of worlds that rivaled the UGTO and the ICC. During these mass expansions the Legion launched a series of invasion forces to retake their lost territory that the V’ladmir had under their control. These invasions failed, but at a great cost to the V’ladmir. Of the Confederacy that had twenty-four Armadas to defend its borders, only eleven remained. Fortunately for the V’ladmir they had not lost nearly as much territory as they had feared, and out of that they still had a considerable amount of populations willing to serve for the V’ladmir Fleet. The Legion had now apparently encountered a race of beings that countered their own aggressive and technologically sophisticated ships, and were being pushed back, as were the K’luth. The V’ladmir Council believed that they should meet this new race that had technology that rivaled the Legion in power and magnitude, so they sent a Diplomatic party to the heart of the Alien territory were their forces were apparently coming from, Tau Ceti. The V’ladmir FTL drives were capable of generating a wormhole that would remain stable only for the amount of time needed for the vessel to go through, and since the V’ladmir had many more races under the belt of the Confederacy this process only took seconds. When the Diplomats arrived in Tau Ceti, they came in the presence of the Aliens that called themselves Humans. In the 250 years of enduring war and hardships, the Human race had never met anything like the V’ladmir before. The V’ladmir representatives were welcomed to Atlantis, the official staging grounds of the Humans, who had now expanded their Dominion to 120 solar systems from the original 34 systems. The delegation was questioned about many things including its culture and how many other races it had encountered in its explorations. The delegation, hoping to have made a new ally and perhaps a new race to their growing Confederation, answered all the questions and offered the Human race the membership to the V’ladmir Confederacy. The Humans were very pessimistic from then on about the relation ship with the V’ladmir Confederacy. Many Humans believed that all the V’ladmir wanted was more slaves for a growing “Empire” or more cannon fodder for their fleets. Even though the diplomats tried to ensure that diplomatic relations continued with the Humans, the Humans populations forced the government to refuse the offer, and to declare war upon the V’ladmir Confederacy, leading to open conflict between 4 different Races, each with their own Empires, Confederacies, and Republics.

V’ladmir Society: The V’ladmir are not a warring species and was always devoted almost completely to the religion that has dominated their culture. The V’ladmir are monotheists who have shaped their culture much in the same way ancient Human society based their cultures, around a single deity, and have constructed themselves as such in their daily lives. Being Aliens to Humanity, they lived much longer than even the hardiest Human, making it to around one-thousand years before death. In the length of time their race lives, their society had advanced quickly in comparison to the Humans, and the K’luth, though being less so in comparison to the Legion. The V’ladmir have constructed gigantic cities that have buildings that are respective pieces of art in Human culture. As well as being very artistic, a V’ladmir has an I.Q. that passes close to 783, there is no exact measure on their I.Q. as it grows by the day in their offspring. While the V’ladmir had begun space exploration during the times in which Humanity was still fighting WWI, they did not start to construct weapons of war until their small area of space came under invasion, thus leading to the V’ladmir Confederacy. Even during the times in which the V’ladmir had little advanced technology, they had always managed to care for their homeworld of Varda making sure that their species expansion did not harm the fragile ecosystem on Varda, for unlike the Human Race, the V’ladmir are very humble and thankful of their surroundings and that they are even in existence, thus making sure that every aspect of ancient life was devoted to either science, religion, medical knowledge, or the study of their planets ecosystem and how to protect it. V’ladmir culture slowly expanded to being extremely careful of their planets ecology, but still being able to construct vast cities, and tunnels underneath the crust of the planets surface so as the mass transit of V’ladmir from city to city would not harm any of the planets species. When the V’ladmir advanced into space travel and colonized their moon, Narsillion, they discovered that with the right terra-forming techniques, it could support a vast majority of their growing population. For twenty-three years the V’ladmir painstakingly terra-formed Narsillion into a minor colony for their population, and since it was a barren world, it would not hurt the ecosystem of Varda at all. During the next hundred years the V’ladmir transformed this small colony into a massive capital for their people, making it into a city planet that used oxygen factories to produce and maintain a steady atmosphere and climate for the planet. As Narsillion grew with cities, factories, and countryside, Varda, still the Homeworld for the V’ladmir, became the scientific world were other terra-forming ideas were tested in sealed environments so as Narsillion would become the bread-basket for the people of Varda. Varda became a lush world were animals, plants or wild life could be transported to worlds that were being terra-formed from barren rocks, to lush blue worlds. Varda still had many cities and people who preferred their natural Homeworld to the cities of Narsillion, and it would remain the headquarters of the V’ladmir Science Committee that would generate safer, more efficient ways of transporting people from Varda, or Narsillion to the other colonies that were being terra-formed in their system. The Va’sa System had close to 14 main planets and almost 43 moons. Of the main planets there is only one gas giant, 6 Barren worlds, 2 arid planets, and 5 Terran worlds. 4 of the 5 Terran planets were terra-formed into the lush worlds that they are, and of them only 3 have moons. The total amount of terra-formed planets in the Va’sa system is 5 and that number has remained steady for the time being. The V’ladmir fell under siege by the Legion almost an eon after the last terra-forming project was complete leading to the formation of the V’ladmir Confederacy.

Human Dominion: The formation of the Dominion and were it is so far: The Human Dominion is considered another great thing that has come from the continuous war with the K’luth, and other human factions. The Dominion is made up of 122 star systems but its capital of Earth is located far from the battle zones, so only 25 star systems have the need for combat enforcements, planetary defense bases, shipyards that would produce warships, battle stations, and other such weapons of war. Like the V’ladmir Confederacy the Human Dominion is built from expansion and conquering of smaller worlds that other alien races have not claimed, or planets that once belonged to the K’luth. The Dominion has had a long history of war and turmoil as a result of the Civil War between the UGTO and the ICC, and the long wars with the K’luth. The loss of life was the heaviest casualty of war between UGTO, ICC, and the K’luth leading to almost 100 billion dead on the Human side. While the new Staging Grounds of war is at the Tau Ceti system, and most of the outer laying systems have been fortified with patrols, stations, planetary defense, and shipyards, the main staging grounds have been fortified with almost all of the Dominions war effort. While new technology has almost put the famed UGTO battle dreadnaught and the ICC missile dreadnaught in the obsolete role as ships, the dreadnaught class itself has fallen under the eyes of one of the Dominion’s leading ship designers, Isis Shipyards. The Isis construction yards used some of the newest technology in the production of the new dreadnaught and have outfitted new shield technology, a result of the formation of the Dominion, into its design. The new dreadnaughts, dubbed the Exodus, are truly fearsome vessels with heavy shielding and armor, as well as thick hull plating to protect the interior from damage. The weapon systems on these new ships are as fearsome as the vessels bearing them. The weapons are now energy based particle cannons and can carve a crater in an asteroid with a glancing shot, and are even more destructive if a direct hit is made. The success of the Isis Shipyards has been met with other Shipyards and technology companies banning together to produce the most powerful ship in the Dominion’s Fleet, the “Darkener” class Battleship. These battleships can be called a jack-of-all-trades ship as they can bombard a planet with its heavy photon cannons, and annihilate enemy ships with its state-of-the-art particle cannons. Of the new dreadnaughts and battleships being produced, only 5 dreadnaughts, and 2 battleships have seen combat, and in that combat, the enemy has not lasted long…

K’luth Empire: The retaking of the lost Empire: After the K’luth were driven out of their Home system by the Legion forces, they scattered, most going to Sirius A, some going to the Mines of the Legion, or the Resistance. When the Humans encountered the K’luth they fired first and asked questions later as to what these humans were. They found out the hard way that the humans were in a state of civil war and were fighting a war that could destroy the remaining K’luth, so they entered the war, hoping to destroy the human’s fleets so they could try to rebuild their society in peace. It took 250 years for the war between the humans, and the K’luth to die down enough for the K’luth to use their older ships to take back their lost Homeworld from the ailing Legion forces. With their Homeworld’s successful recapture, the K’luth has rebuilt their Empire to a small fraction of its former glory, but it is much larger than their territory while they fought the humans. Now that the K’luth have some section of government restored, they have managed to reconstruct their deadly fleets that could cloak behind the enemy lines and take them by surprise, leading to victory most of the time. During the reconstruction of their Empire, the K’luth have managed to reproduce their Hive class station into a large combat ship which can bombard an enemy planet with is powerful bio-weaponry and incinerate an enemy spacecraft with its newly improved psi-cannons. The K’luth Empire is back; can the Dominion take them on this time?

Legion: The Legion is a group of Aliens that use terrifyingly advanced AI to take over entire Empires in mere weeks. They use these AI for every day use, not only for war, but for everything. The Masters of these AI are so elusive, that they are said to not exist in most cultures in anything but myth or legend. The oddity is that they are real and are simply constructing colony ships, escort ships and other weapons of war to take over the planets they conquered. The Masters exist, and they are coming to retake their Galaxy, this time, themselves, not their AI. They are very elusive in combat using their AI controlled ships to lay waste and using their Masterships to control and coordinate their assaults. It is said that these Masterships are station sized vessels and can destroy entire planets with its massive array of Beam based weaponry. Little is known of the Legion, except they destroyed every alien race of old that had advanced enough to be a threat. The Legion can not be stopped alone…

Unknown vessels: The unknown ships of the galaxy are usually ships that don’t want to be found or are simple passenger liners transporting civilians from overpopulated worlds to outer colonies of the larger governing bodies. These ships can consist of anything from, pirates, smugglers, passenger liners, freighters, abandoned spacecraft, independent states or kingdoms, and/or Unknown Entity’s. These ships can be IDed from time to time if u have the proper equipment or are close enough for sensors to pick them up. Capture the pirates/smugglers to gain prestige, escort passenger liner to the nearest station, assist freighters in mining ops, tow abandoned spacecraft to the nearest shipyard (note: any abandoned spacecraft successfully towed to a shipyard and stored in your garage can be used in combat or other Darkspace actions), hunt down troublesome independent warships, or discover/destroy Unknown Entity’s. Do not underestimate the power of an independent vessel. Even a cruiser can be brought down by a group of the independent frigates.

V’ladmir Ship classes: The V’ladmir Fleet relies on a certain alloy called Helluin to produce their ships. The V’ladmir ships that are smaller than a Cruiser use a certain array of pulsar weaponry that can punch small holes in capital ship armor, but can tear apart the armor of smaller craft. Getting through the shields is a whole other matter. Smaller ships will have to rely on torpedoes to get past the frustrating shields of an enemy ship. The larger capital ships of the V’ladmir fleet posses a different type of weapon that is energy based and capable of both planetary bombardment and the assaulting of enemy flagships. Their shields are very powerful, capable of withstanding 4 planetary defense bases for over ten minuets, their armor is as thick as an old UGTO/ICC scout, and its hull can take a large beating before core systems become damaged and the ships start to fall apart. The V’ladmir has sectioned their armada into two groups, Combat Ships and Non-Combat Ships. The Capital ships are Cruisers, Dreadnaughts and Battleships, the Standard ships are Corvettes, Frigates, and Destroyers. The V’ladmir Non-combat ships are unarmed but, well armored.

Combat ships:

“Nimphelos” Class Corvette: The Nimphelos class Corvette is the standard Corvette for the V’ladmir Fleet. It is the size of an old UGTO/ICC Frigate with a little more firepower and is much more efficient than its older counterparts. The Nimphelos is armed with the standard pulsar weaponry of smaller ships in the V’ladmir Fleet. It has the standard shields of the V’ladmir Fleet and is armored much in the same way the Human Frigate is. The Nimphelos Class Corvette is armed with 6 pulsar cannons and 2 torpedo bays.
Among the V’ladmir, we find that the smallest ship is at a disadvantage in the smallest battle. We must equal our enemy in order to succeed.

“Aratar” Class Frigate: The Aratar class Frigate is an old UGTO/ICC Cruiser sized vessel with the firepower of the old cruisers. Its shields are made to withstand a beating from the larger vessels and it can cause a considerable amount of damage itself before having to retreat from a fight. Its armor can withstand a large hit from Battleships main guns, but will fail if struck repeatedly. The Aratar Frigate is a foe to be reckoned with if you are only in a Standard vessel and alone. The Aratar Frigate is armed with 15 pulsar cannons and 4 torpedo bays. We, V’ladmir, have a complex society in which we believe, if less will die in larger ships, then we shall go with the larger ships.

“Perlor’i” Class Destroyer: The Perlor’i class destroyer is a Cruiser sized vessel with the same shields and firepower as the Anga class cruiser. The Perlor’i is a powerful escort destroyer with good amounts of armor and hull integrity. The Perlor’i is armed with 17 pulsar cannons and 4 torpedo bays. We may not be an aggressive race, but we know the ways of war, and we know that any good ship must have equal escort to protect it.

“Anga” Class Cruiser: The Anga class Cruiser is powerful vessel that can rival the firepower or a weaker dreadnaught. Though the size of the older dreadnaughts from the UGTO/ICC with around the same amount of armor and hull, its shields are very strong on board an Anga class cruiser. It can take on a newer dreadnaughts assault while still dispersing a large amount of firepower without taking any hull damage. These ships are the terror of the Standard class vessels and can easily disperse and enemy fleet consisting of frigates, corvettes, and other smaller spacecraft. The Anga Cruiser is equipped with 24 heavy energy cannons and 6 torpedo bays. V’ladmir design is one of the most versatile amongst the known galaxy, we think. The Anga is no exception.

“Orod” Class Dreadnaught: The Orod class dreadnaught is a sight to behold indeed. It has the firepower of two old UGTO/ICC dreadnaughts, armor as thick as the old scout ships, shields powerful enough to sit in orbit of a planet with powerful defense bases and not have to budge for around five minuets after the bases opened fire, hull that can disperse smaller ships firepower while still taking a huge beating from the Capital Ships. These ships are not to be taken lightly as they can slice up a Corvette without taking much damage. The dreadnaught is armed with 32 heavy energy cannons, has 8 torpedo bays, and 6 squadrons of fighters.
V’ladmir Capital Ships are some of the most powerful ships in the Galaxy, I think. I intend to prove it as well...

“Pyroxian” Class Battleships: The Pyroxian class Battleship is the largest available warship in the V’ladmir Armada and has the heaviest firepower in the Fleet. The battleships are equipped with planetary bombardment cannons, (modified energy cannons) Heavy energy cannons, Heavy torpedoes, Heavy shields, Heavy armor, and the thickest hull available for mobile ships, being as thick as an old UGTO/ICC frigate. The Pyroxian battleship can survive under continuous fire from 4 planetary defense bases for more than ten minuets and pulling out with 60% armor left.. These battleships are gigantic in comparison to the Dreadnaughts in both size and firepower. The Pyroxian battleship is armed with 48 heavy energy cannons, 10 torpedo bays, and 8 squadrons of fighters. Thus comes the end of war with the Pyroxian leading the way.

“Kano’ost” Class Command Fortress: The Kano’ost command fortress is a state-of-the-art battle station that has been refitted to act as a mobile shipyard and weapons platform. The Kano’ost is the V’ladmir version of the jack-of-all-trades ship, but in station form. These stations were responsible for the fall of most Legion worlds near the Confederacy boarders and are a force to be reckoned with by any ship. The Kano’ost is armed with 48 heavy energy cannons, 20 torpedo bays, and 12 squadrons of fighters.

Non-Combat Ships:

V’ladmir Mining Ship: The V’ladmir mining ship is a large frigate sized vessel that mines planets, asteroids, and debris. The mining vessel is unarmed ship that, when destroyed, has an area of effect explosion of 2000gu. Mining is one of the many ways of gaining prestige. The mining ship is equipped with light shields to protect the ship from damage.

V’ladmir Transport: The V’ladmir transport is used to transport infantry, populations, minerals, and debris to different planets, or stations. These transports are unarmed and do not implode when destroyed. The transport is equipped with light shields and armor to protect the ship from hull damage.

V’ladmir Engineer Ship: The V’ladmir Engineer ship is a vessel used for constructing structures on a planets surface. The engineer can build different types of structures for planetary defense and can even construct orbital platforms that would defend the planet from attack. The maximum number of advanced planetary defense bases on a planet is four. Since the firepower and the energy consumptions are so great, it would take a huge city to power one cannon and even then there would be rolling blackouts that would reduce moral. The V’ladmir engineer can also construct space stations to act a refinery, star port, orbital defense platform, and as a shipyard. The engineer is equipped with light shields and armor to protect the fragile hull from damage.

V’ladmir Supply Ship: The V’ladmir supply ship is a vessel used as a mobile resupply point for damaged ships, or vessels without ammunitions. These ships are armed with two pulsar cannons to defend the ships from enemy fighter squadrons. This vessel is fortified so as it can perform its dangerous task without having to worry about smaller enemy vessels destroying it. The Supply ship is equipped with a shield and armor to protect against hull damage.

V’ladmir Construction Options: The V’ladmir engineer can construct a variety of things both in orbit and on a planets surface to increase the effectiveness of the planet itself. The V’ladmir engineer can construct the following: orbital platforms such as space stations, orbital defense platforms, colonial platforms, shipyards, Mk I planetary defense base, Mk II planetary defense base, Capital City, City, Manufacturing HQ, manufacturing platform, and Urban Colony.

Human Ship Classes: The human Dominion relies on heavy metals to construct their ships. The Human Dominion is a vast collection of worlds rivaling that of the V’ladmir Confederacy. With so many planets, the Dominion has a vast array of new technology being produced every year. New technology has put hull armor at a second defense role in combat ships, and shields in the primary role in defense of combat ships. With the continuous development of the shields, armor, hull integrity, weapons, and the ships that bear them, the Dominion has become one of the galaxies leading technology producers. The Human fleet is cut into two sub standards, the Capital Ships and the Standard Type Ships. Standard vessels are armed with regular particle cannons, while the Capitol Ships are armed with heavy particle cannons and photon cannons to attack planets. The Capital ships are made up of: Cruiser, Dreadnaught, and the Battleship. The Standard type ships are made up of the: Corvette, Frigate, Destroyer, Miner, Engineer, Supply ship, and Transport.

Mk 1 Assault Corvette: The Mk 1 Assault Corvette is the fastest warship in the Humans fleet capable of reaching 35.5 GU in less than 50 seconds. These small war corvettes are a little bigger than the older UGTO/ICC corvettes but have more powerful weapons and shields. These ships are armed with 6 regular particle cannons and 2 torpedo bays.

“Enforcer” Class Assault Frigate: The Enforcer class assault frigate is a frigate roughly the size of the older UGTO/ICC Cruiser and is armed as such. The Enforcer is one of the newest editions to the Dominion fleet and is equipped with the latest shields and weapons available for a ship of its class. The Enforcer is armed with 12 regular particle cannon but, since it has been fitted with the latest of technology, it can refit these cannons for photon cannons, or for heavy particle cannons. The Enforcer is armed with 4 torpedo bays.

“Stone” Class Heavy Destroyer: The Stone class destroyer is an engineering feat well known throughout the Dominion space. Apparently, after the Isis Shipyards completed the Exodus class Dreadnaught, they went to work on the Stone class destroyer which is supposedly the most advanced Standard ship ever constructed by the Dominion. These destroyers serve as an escort/assault ship capable of defending a small task force against almost anything to the exceptions of the Capital ships. These ships are considered the most advanced standard ship because they move as nimbly as a corvette and can literally turn on a dime. These ships are armed with 18 regular particle cannons and 4 torpedo bays.

“Obsidian” Class War Cruiser: The Obsidian class war cruiser is a piece of art in its own right. These cruisers can easily take apart enemy spacecraft ranging from a simple corvette to a well armed dreadnaught (if there enough of them there). The Obsidian is outfitted with the best weapons and shields available for the cruisers and since it is part of the Capital Ships, it is armed with heavy particle cannons and photon cannons. The Obsidian class war cruiser is armed with 24 heavy particle cannons, 4 photon cannons, 6 torpedo bays, and 4 squadrons of fighters.

“Exodus” Class Dreadnaught: The Exodus class dreadnaught is the most powerful ship before the battleship and can easily tear apart a cruiser with smaller escorts. The Exodus is well armed and heavily armored. It has state-of-the-art shields and weapons making it a dangerous opponent even for a fleet of enemy dreadnaughts. It is said that these ships can become the most powerful weapon in the Dominion fleet under the right Commander. The Exodus dreadnaught is armed with 32 heavy particle cannons, 6 photon cannons, 8 torpedo bays, and 6squadrons of fighters.

“Darkener” Class Battleship: The Darkener is a state-of-the-art Combat vessel with well over 30 heavy cannons. The Darkener can easily dispatch an enemy combat group if it’s comprised of anything less than a dreadnaught. These battleships can act as a mobile command center, assault base, resupply point, engineering platform, and a heavy transport making it a jack-or-all-trades ship. The battleships are equipped with the best shields and armor in the Dominion for all mobile ships, making it the sturdiest vessel in their fleet. The Darkener is armed with 48 heavy particle cannons, 8 photon cannons, 1000 construction “bees”, a resupply station for resuppling nearby friendly ships, and 4 cargo bays capable of holding more than 10 squads on infantry. The Darkener is also equipped, like all capital ships, with 6 squadrons of fighters.

Mining Ship: The Dominion may have a huge economy, but it is not above using Miners to generate even more materials for the war effort, or for simple planetary construction efforts. These ships are armed with 1 particle cannon to ward off smaller raiders and are equipped with a weak shield and little armor to protect the fragile hull from damage.

Heavy Transport Ship: The heavy transport ship is a standard ship used to carry populations, infantry, materials, debris, and other items needed on ships, stations, or planets. The Dominion Heavy Transport is equipped with 2 particle cannons to help ward off raiders or pirates.

Engineer Ship: The engineer platform is a small vessel used to construct buildings on the surface of a planet or on an orbital facility. The Dominion has the unique ability to construct different types of platforms in orbit of a heavily populated world so as to increase living space, shipyard capacity, and manufacturing capability. The engineer can also construct space station in orbit of a planet so as to protect the surface from orbital bombardment and to act a trading post so worlds with abundant resources can trade those resources for scarce ones. The Dominion engineer can construct 4 planetary defense buildings on the surface in case of space station destruction; the planet will not be completely defenseless.

Heavy Supply Ship: The dominion heavy supply ship is a mobile resupply point for major fleet operations. These vessels are heavily fortified so as to survive the momentous combat situations it is put through. The Dominion supply ship can resupply 4 ships at a time so as to increase combat effectiveness. The Supply ship is armed with 4 particle cannons.

Dominion Space Station: The Dominion Space Station is an orbital platform conformed into a mobile “planet”, so to speak. The space station serves as a mobile resupply point and a weapons platform for a vast majority of operations. The Space Station can be called an artillery platform as its weapons are almost exact replicas of the planetary defense base Mk I. The Space Station is armed with 48 heavy particle cannons, 20 torpedo bays, 12 fighter squadrons, and 4 modified long range artillery guns (Mk I planetary defense weapon).

K’luth War Ships: When the V’ladmir stopped the Legion take over of the K’luth Empire, they unwittingly freed a dangerous race who wanted everything they had lost and more back. The K’luth still use the bio-ships they used during the Human Civil War, but have made serious modifications to them. Their ships are now much more deadly and have the unique ability to cloak and remain hidden from enemy sensors until they de-cloak again. There are rumors in the K’luth Hive that the V’ladmir have begun the creation of a sensor system that can pick up a cloaked ships signature, and that it will be finished within the year.

K’luth Corvette: The K’luth Corvette is a small reconnaissance vessel and is equipped with a cloaking device to help scout out enemy ships and orbital platforms for fleet engagement. The K’luth Corvette is only lightly shielded, relying on its speed and maneuverability to get it out of harms way. The K’luth corvette is the size of a small frigate and is armed with 6 psi cannons and 2 anti-matter torpedo bays.

K’luth Frigate: The K’luth frigate is a step up from the Corvette and is armed as well as the Human Frigates. The K’luth frigate is used to hunt down crippled enemy spacecraft and finish them off, or capture them for the use of the Empire. The K’luth Frigate is equipped with a powerful bio-shield and heavy organic armor for hull protection. The K’luth Frigate is armed with 12 psi-cannons and 4 Anti-matter torpedo bays.

K’luth Destroyer: The K’luth destroyer is a medium sized vessel with equal firepower used to attack and cripple enemy spacecraft. It is equipped with heavy armor and powerful bio-shields to withstand the rounds of an enemy capital ship while still being able to take down its shields and armor. The K’luth destroyer is armed with 18 psi-cannons and 4 torpedo bays.

K’luth Cruiser: The K’luth have modified their cruiser to compliment their heavier Capital Class ships and have made it the workhorse of their fleet. The Cruiser’s bio-shields are fitted to withstand the firepower of an enemy dreadnaught, and refitted to damage it enough to force it to pull back allowing the bigger ships of the K’luth fleet to hunt it down. The Cruiser is armed with 26 psi-cannons, 6 torpedo bays, and 4 fighter squadrons.

K’luth Dreadnaught: The K’luth dreadnaught is a powerful war ship equipped with heavy bio-shields and organic armor. The K’luth dreadnaught is equipped with a powerful cloaking device that will allow it to launch fighters without giving away its position. The K’luth dreadnaught is used to hunt down enemy Capital Ships and destroy them to allow the more powerful Hives to get through. The K’luth dreadnaught is armed with 35 psi-cannons, 8 torpedo bays, and 6 fighter squadrons.

K’luth Hive Ship: The K’luth hive ships are the Flagship for the K’luth fleet, almost unmatched in terms of raw firepower these ships can almost easily take out a Dominion Space Station. The Hive ships are equipped with the most powerful cloaking device available for the K’luth and have the ability to fire its torpedoes when cloaked without giving away its position. However there is a degrading side to this ability. The Hive will only be able to fire 1 torpedo at a time or risk losing too much energy and being forced to drop its cloak. The Hive is equipped with the most powerful bio-shields and armor available to the mobile K’luth fleet. The Hive is armed with 48 psi-cannons, 10 torpedo bays, and 8 fighter squadrons.

K’luth Nest: The K’luth Nest is the organic version of a space station, capable of housing a small fleet and still have some room to spare. These stations serve as a mobile resupply point for a fleet and are well equipped for battle. Because of its size it is unable to maintain a cloak field, so it uses heavy shields and armor instead to defend itself. The K’luth Nest is armed with 48 psi-cannons, 20 torpedo bays, and 12 fighter squadrons.

K’luth Extractor: The K’luth extractor is used to gather recourses for the growing K’luth Empire. These extractors are lightly armored and armed relying on its cloaking device to finish its mining operations without being disturbed. The K’luth extractor is equipped with 1 psi-cannon to ward off enemy spacecraft.

K’luth Transport: While the K’luth are an expanding power, they still rely heavily on the abilities of a transport to transport populations from growing planets to outer colonies. These transports rely on its secrecy to get it from its point of origin to its destination. The K’luth transport is armed with a cloaking device and 2 psi-cannons for defense.

K’luth Engineer: The K’luth engineer is a standard variant of the Human Engineer to three major exceptions: it has a cloaking device so it can construct without an enemy harassing it, it uses a series of organic drones to transport material to or from the surface, and it constructs organic structures in orbit and on the surface.

K’luth Supply Ship: The K’luth supply ship is the resupply point of the K’luth fleet, even though their organic armor helps to regenerate their shields and armor just as quickly. The K’luth supply ship is equipped with moderate shielding and armor to protect it from damage. The supply ship is also armed with 4 psi-cannons.

Legion Forces: The Legion uses Ai controlled ships to destroy enemy units and planets without having to risk their own lives in the process. This has begun to change however, as the Legion are now piloting their Masterships themselves. This will be very bad for anyone who encounters them in their personal ships. Most of the available Legion Ships are AI controlled, to the exception of the Masterships and their Stations. Legion forces use a complex number of materials to construct their ships but, the most widely used material is Uridium, an unstable element that is used in some jump drives for other races.

Legion Corvette: The Legion corvette is the most powerful Corvette in the game using a complex variety of sensors, shields, armor, and Beam-based weaponry to pin-point and destroy an enemy spacecraft. The Legion Corvette is armed with 4 Beams.

Legion Frigate: The Legion Frigate is a average sized ship with good shields and armor to protect the fragile AI systems inside from damage. The Legion Frigate is armed with 8 Beams.

Legion Destroyer: The Legion destroyer is a Cruiser sized ship with 16 Beam weapons on board that are guaranteed not to miss its target. These beams are very powerful and can pick off most enemy Corvettes and Frigates in a few seconds, provided its shields are down. The Legion destroyer is an escort ship used to guard the Mastership or a Station.

Legion Cruiser: The Legion cruiser is a powerful Capital ship almost equal in size to the Human Dreadnaught. These ships can dispatch an enemy capital ship with its multiple beams and can easily outrun an enemy fleet with its impressive array of drives. The Legion Cruiser is armed with 32 Beams.

Legion Dreadnaught: The Legion Dreadnaught is the Heart of the Legion AI war effort. The Dreadnaught can be seen as the size of a Human station, perhaps bigger, and having the same or more firepower to destroy an enemy ship. The Legion Dreadnaught is seconded only by the Legion Mastership and the station. The Legion dreadnaught is armed with 32 Beams and 10 heavy Beams.

Legion Mastership: The Legion Mastership is the epitome of the Legion war effort. It is the Mobile command fortress that can wipe out entire planets with its massive array of weapons. These ships are crewed by the Legion Masters themselves, apparently tired of their AI failing them and getting pushed back instead of going forward. Now that the Masters are here, will anyone be able to stop them? The Mastership is armed with 32 heavy beams and 4 Ironclad Beams (These beams can eradicate an enemy from a huge distance, almost 5000 GU).

Legion Station: The Legion station it command base for the legion forces in this part of the galaxy. It can act as a mobile shipyard, just like the Kano’ost from the V’ladmir, and use its advanced Ironclad beams to gut an enemy space station from afar. The Legion station is a force to be reckoned with. Even planets shudder at the name of them.

Legion Miner AI: The Legion miner AI is a mining program that uses a small ship about the size of the Legion corvette to mine materials for the Legion worlds. These small ships are unarmed and explode when destroyed. The explosion radius is around 2000 GU; fortunately it will not destroy anything larger than a cruiser.

Legion Transport AI: The Legion transport AI is a transport program designed to transport cybernetic warriors from planets to the field of combat in order to capture an enemy ship, station, or planet. These ships are heavily armored to carry out its programming.

Legion Engineer AI: The Legion engineer AI is a engineering program designed to fortify the Legion worlds with stations, planetary defense, and other things that will allow the Legion to prosper and grow further in the Galaxy.

Legion Supply AI: The Legion supply AI is used to resupply the ships of the Legion with nano-drones that would reconstruct the hull and armor on the vessel quicker than anything in the galaxy. Unfortunately for the Legion that was a millennia ago, and technology has advanced to the point were the nano-technology is not something new.

How to gain Prestige and what new things you can do to get prestige.

Gaining prestige and what new options there are: To gain prestige is simple, you can construct buildings on the surface of a planet(s), you can capture the pirates/smugglers to gain prestige, escort passenger liner to the nearest station, assist freighters in mining ops, tow abandoned spacecraft to the nearest shipyard (note: any abandoned spacecraft successfully towed to a shipyard and stored in your garage can be used in combat, engineering…..ect.), hunt down troublesome independent warships, or discover/destroy Unknown Entity’s. You can also combat enemy spacecraft to gain prestige, bombard an enemy planet to gain prestige, transport infantry to an enemy planet and capture the planet to gain prestige, you can transport civilians to a friendly planet to increase population, and you can resupply allies to gain prestige.

kk, and i wouldnt mind critizism on this since that is the perpouse for me posting it....and if u dont like remaking it inot a nother game, just add the V'ladmir and a few ship classes, and the V'ladmir are not going to be like the kluth, with organi ships, they will use metal ships with an elegant design, like the UGTO i guess.....replies are welcomed

Sounds like a good first draft, needs a lot of refinement. And I'm a bit skeptical about the heavy reliance on "cannon" type weaponry for most factions, especially my beloved one... It doesn't make sense to put standard weapons as the mainstay of most of the fleet in wartime, hvy weapons are best suited for this task ( beams/torps/missiles ). Cannons also have this nasty tendency to favor small uber ships, which everyone can agree, are the plague.

/me gives a thumbs up

ah but not in my variant, u c cannons will naturally be more powerful on the larger ships, and super weak on the smaller ones, the dreads and battlsehips are going to have immensly powerful shields which will effectivly illiminate the threat of the smaller craft to them, u c they would have the same about of shielding as a........planet i guess and with this system there would be a max of 4 PDB's and 2 types of them, the planet def would fire cannon weaponry that would be able to destroy smaller craft and severly damage larger ships. I am using the cannon variants as using beams seems to have become a little obsolete. and they look cooler in space combat, which is one reason people play for the mind blowing action and graphics......and ive had 3 extra months to think this out lol

oh and as seen above in my manual, there will be shields and armor, both equal to the other......

Still, cannons chance of hitting small ships is poor, want to own kluth? Just go around in dessies with cannons... nothing changed... DS gameplay is based around beam/torps/missiles, always been, always will be, cause cannons based gameplay is just well... I won't say it, but I don't like it.

I didn't read one line of it. I already know it is a bad idea by its length. You are asking to change too much of the game.

EDIT: I see you are trying to add another faction or something. If we had more players I wouldn't be opposed to that.

u do know that most of this would simply involve the advancement of present day DS right? its not that much of a change for the game, it would just add another faction, and with a few fleets fleet hoping and players just sitting around the lobby or reading forums waiting for the update i think we have enough to add a faction and it would just entail different detailings and ship......subsytems. and the cannons idea would imply that the smaller the ship, the less damage, and with a battleship at 48 cannons and 12 torps, i think its still a torp based game, and u can still mod on lasers and such, i am just doing the standard equip manual, no wya am i doing all the possible mods for these ships....would take me years. and another point, the smaller crafts cannonry weapons would not be able to penetrate the enemy capital ships shields or armor unless there were larger ships helping them, and since the smaller craft could be killed by a battleship with a side glance shot, they shouldnt pose a threat. Another point lol, this version would center around a metaverse were all the larger battles would take place, and maybe a newer admiral server, and just to make sure that the huge amount of firepower cant be abused by noobs, i porpose the battleships be locked up at GA and the dreadnaught available to anyone above VA, as a VA can still use the moderate firepower of the cruisers to punch a hole in an enemy ship. As the manual pertains the Admirals would be the only ones able to use the huge firepower of the dreadnaught, even thought it is still a little off from the battleship (keep wanting to say battlescruiser, played HW2 too much lol). I rest my case lol.

I think that it is a cool idea, but i have to agree, why are ships all cannons and no beams at all? You shouldnt have to mod on a beam, ships should come with them, beams are a vital part of this game (however in this version they are used almost totally for pd). And another thing, are those all the ships you have for the factions? Not that many there, need more ships with specializations for each ship. I didnt see any bombers, sensor craft, minelayers (shut up i know minelayers are useless! but they are cool!) or stuff like taht you know?

Also i very much doubt that this will ever be implemented in the way that you see it, if at all, remember there are, like, a few people (how many?) who work on this game and this seems like a big update, i wouldnt see it at anytime in the near future. Lots of people come up with ideas and they get blown off. *sigh, there goes my XST-83 Stealth Cruiser for UGTO*

I dont mean to like, totally destroy your post! But im in the argutive mode today! So why not just not listen to me?

u c the ships could mod HCL like weapons on, beams are much more powerful in this version as well, like how the old EAD's used to be, so u could do one or two things: either make beams available but nerf em a bit, or u could make beams modable, but only a certain number on a ship and ship class, like a corvette cant mod one and a Battleship can mod 10. Stations should be able to mod 15 since they are well, stations
