Missing Textures |

Whenever I join a game, all the ships and objects are pitch black. For some reason, no matter what graphics settings I use, the textures are missing. I have a GeForce FX 5200 (128mb) graphics card which should be more than enough horsepower to handle the textures.
However, the tutorial seems to show textures just fine. It's just when I connect to the metaverse that i get the problem (i haven't tried a scenario game yet).
Anyone know why this would be happening?
Hope someone can help!

Redownload the game, if your still having issues, check directx and your Nvidia drivers.
Oh and make sure texture clamp is off.
(and in general, dump the FX line of Nvidia cards asap, they suck badly)

It's a fresh download from yesterday, but I'll try it again. I updated my Nvidia drivers last night too. Didn't help. What is texture clamp? Are you talking in my Nvidia properties or in the Darkspace graphics setup?

NVidia properties.
I hate the FX series of cards, my brother has one, and it cant even touch the 9600XT (he has the 5600 FX Ultra). If it keeps happening, try some 3rd party drivers like the omegadrivers ( http://www.omegadrivers.net ). They're pretty spiffy and most of the time, improve performance a bucket load.
Also try updating your motherboard chipset drivers.

It's most likely your drivers... use our handy online "Hardware Database" over in the left side menu.

Update your drivers on your hardware, that might fix the problem.
Jack: We all have our opinions of which graphics card we choose, I choose nVidia because I hate Radeon's... that's all there is to it..

Typical Jack on his ranting rampage... anyways that is odd... I have the same exact card, no problems what so ever on any games I play. If you need help, let me know since I know how to tweak it.

Im thinking it might be a GFX or MOBO driver issue. Are the textures black and blue squares btw? (the ones that apear instead of the ships)
(btw, I just hate nvidia for their shoddy work in the 6*** and fx series. No hardware dx9....*shudders*, thats why all ATI cards (7*** and up work with BF2, and why A LOT of nvidia cards dont (because they dont put hardware dx into a lot of their cards, and let it run all software) (so my rant has good reason behind it ))
