Follow up of these stories by myself indicates that these people do in fact have registered accounts, with actual feedback. Now, while I give no credit to the stories written by disgruntled emmployees I find the large number of supported and documented cases rather persuasive.

paypal only screws people who try to screw others. otherwize they would be shut down So fast by the local govournment, and in addition as someone mentioned before, if they were the boogie men visa, mastercard, ect would dump them in a heartbeat

Like visa and mastercard act in the best interest of people...lets see interest rates at historic lows...borrow money for virtually nothing ...lend it out and charge 17-21% interest..pretty profitable , which i fully can appreciate and understand nobody does anything for nothing...yet it doesnt do much to explain why they farm out the billing to a third party company (probably to save money from that huge profit to further expand their bottom line) and in the process make account info availible for theft from outside (like a couple of months ago when hundreds of thousands of peoples account info was stolen from aforementioned company)_, rather than doing the right thing and keeping that work in house....even if it does cost them a little bit of that profit to do it.

bottom line..is the bottom line.

I mean, there is this:

But, you always have to remember that you can always find somebody looking for the easy buck - willing to sue for just about anything. Just because these are out there doesn't mean they should have won or will.

My personal opinion is you as a business person should always limit your exposure to risk & liability if possible. I do think paypals policies are designed to limit theirs. If you're going to run a business, why not get a regular merchant account and use paypal as an extra option only. And, without getting into Class Actions -- if you feel they've done something wrong, you're always welcome to investigate your options with the courts.

I, personally, still have some faith that the court system would recognize and penalize a company that's actively promoting activities such as those quoted by the first few posts on this thread. Although you might think that PayPal is big business - and it does make money - in the scheme of things, it's a *small* company.
