does your PC "running" windows or not??
if yes, what kind of windows??

i am shure, i can help you, but i need to know detail's

i dont bother with direct x its far to much hassle, i spent 3 hours attemting to find the fix patch for a direct x problem on a game i have and i couldnt find it.(the patch does exist by the way i found it before but they took it off the site), so in my opinion dont try its a waste of time find a differnt program thta does the same thing or give up thats my direct x fix.

Tone down that sig image there, cowboy...

852x366 and 850k is about 10k too big in file size, and at least 2x to big - at least in terms of height...

Think of the children!*

it sounds like you are running a copy (not registered) of Windows

I agree Scotty.... Sounds like he has a cracked copy of Windows... A true original copy of Windows has an embedded digital signature telling Microsoft and all those companies that work with Microsoft you have a legit copy of Windows...

When I tried to update my video drivers (ATI) to the newest copy of the ATI core drivers (the new universal kind) Windows told me it was not "Digitally Signed By Microsoft". The drivers work just fine because they are not property of Microsoft but since, if I am not mistaken, DirectX is property of Microsoft.

Therefore they will not update, I believe, without a valid copy of Windows. I think the same thing goes for actually updating Windows itself. You need to know if it is a valid or hacked/copied version of Windows.

if im not mistaken directx is a MS product but directx it self is not made by MS.
its kind of complicated to explain this but just forget that part.

my addition to your problem is that if you download directx normaly trough windows update or the MS website it idd tends to verrify if you got a illigal windows.
and if your PC is windows compatable with directx etc. this is anoing.
and above that you only download about 10 Kb of installation file.
that file scans windows and downloads all the other components and installs them.
wel i dont know you all but thats just to slow and ineffective.
just go here and you can download the full directx 9.0c installation file.
this file wil forget anny compatibility protocol and for those who dont own a legal windows it wil install on even illigal versions.

my 3 euro cents.
