They say what they say because they know that there are ignorants, and dimwits out there who will buy their crud wholeheartedly, and it in turn elevates them to a posistion of power, from which they can rail against the other side.

And of course when the other side protests, it only reaffirms these people's messages as being "true".

American politics is a corrupt and ugly business, but that's not the sad part.

The sad part is that everything I stated above is not limited to American politics, it in fact is a part of human nature...

There are always predators out there looking for ways to manipulate, and sway your beliefs fo rtheir own personal gain.
