C'mon!

You may as well. I had been waiting for upgrading to jump into beta again, but when it came in (or at least I realised it came in) I was -15k pres, so I waited till that was fixed. Now it is, I'd basically decided I'll let the mv go where it wants and help out with beta. So though I would've liked to us to completely finish off the K'luth and ICC, you guys will have no more trouble from me... until beta goes live that is.

Also having a look I see now K'luth have Sirius back, ICC got CD and some of Eps. I can't speak for the other UGTO, but really, you can have your silly home systems

And yeah, I realise this must be the third topic on this, but the others weren't by me

I just popped in to beta....well i can't say it wasn't fun. I find it to be...well more or less the same as release=/ you take a ship, mod it if you want, go fly around and maby you find something to shoot at.

As it is now, there are players who play in beta, people who play in release and players who play neither cause a) beta is quite quiet and b) MV is quite quiet

oh, let's not forget about the noobserver, people go there to gain their pres cause it is not looked badly at now that beta is being "tested"

about the beta testing...what are we supposed to test? as i see it, peple just fly around doing random things finding random bugs, is this the way it's actually ment to be? the found bugs are reported, but the "tests" that are done are not so you could just end up doing stuff everybody else have done a hundred times.

i would like to have some sort of checklist on things to test if i am supposed to spend more time there.

i have been on a two times in a short period of time, bot the time of day there have been lots of players in the MV...on neither of these times has there been any "testing"...apart of the random flying.

could be a good thing to have "test leader" or something to lead and coordinate the "tests"

what is the incentive for a player to get into beta? "you get to know the game before it get's released" is not it for me atleast...think about the ones who will join the community during the possible free trail...are they to be "noob meat for the vet grinder" if the game is so difficult that the vets have to train every single aspect beforehand?

just release it allready, it did not seem to be as laggy as release so it's good enough for me, what stops you from putting out a pach to fix the possible found bugs a month from now?

or is the idea of this game to release it, then wait x amount of years for the next pach whining about bugs and then putting out another beta?

those of you who play beta, play it. those of you who play release, play it.
two dofferent "schools" here choose one and stop picking on the other

i for one do not find anything special in beta but i do like the release so will be playing in MV...atleast i get my moneys worth for a game i pay for...just too bad there simply are not enough players for he two "schools"

another issue are the new players...they play the release version first, too bad they find nothing like now, just a empty metaverse. no vets seem to help them so they just wander in the mv, wander in the lobby and then wander off...or atleast i would do so.

well, think what you like, i'm heading to the metaverse!

Not looked badly at? Its looked worse at IMO 'cause you're abusing two factors - 1) newbie server limitations and 2) beta testing occupying all the people that really care about the game.

Playing the game IS testing, we had a massive battle yesterday in beta, that could easily rival the biggest in the MV i've seen in a year. You need to stick in beta a bit more than just for 5 minutes to see anything happen.

Some people just can't affod to throw $15 down the toilet and arn't GA yet with all badges and credits, some people need to still get ranks/badges to fly the ships they are flying CURRENTLY. So please don't blame them for playing the game they are paying for.

I'm a vice admiral, and the game is $10 a month. What part of BETA IS GOING TO BE RELEASE WITHIN A FEW WEEKS are you missing? It won't matter what badges you have and what rank you are if none of the ships work - and we ESPECIALLY need lower ranked people to come in and try the early ships because all those GAs and gold stars that you're talking about are flying dreads - we need more people testing the frigates and corvettes and destroyers.

Nothing about the uggys capping the MV is about gaining rank or badges, thats a byproduct of a few selfish people thinking that bragging rights is more important than getting the patch RIGHT.

Please don't try & justify yourself.

Actually, yes. For some of us it is. I am not about the bragging rights, I'm about playing the game and playing to keep what I have now. I even spent a stint as ICC on Sunday to help them defend. Once I meet my current goal, THEN I will meet you in beta. I'm actually looking forward to testing out some of the dessies, the ICC escort dessie in paticular. I tried the UGTO picket dessie already and think it's pretty neat, but the time I spent recenty in beta... not one single person seemed interested in testing, they were screaming to have more MIR to shoot at. Whatever.

I was Ug when I went on my hiatus, and I'm Ug now that I've come back.

All of the ships work, otherwise the release wouldn't be coming soon. It WILL matter what ranks and badges people have since that is what determines what ships you can pilot.

New people will want to play the game so they can pilot those ships not play in beta where nothing matters.(except to test of course). The GAs and everyone else there ARE testing smaller ships as well... (conspiracy? make everone get uber negative pres so lower ships are tested /me ponders...)

Are you saying that the light supply ship that patched me up a bit wasn't trying to get prestige? Are you saying that only GAs are playing on the UGTO side because they want to exploit "everyone" playing the beta?

For your information i play both the beta(Not since i recieved -13k pres and i am 2 lazy to get my pres redone) and the mv(not really anymore in the mv as its quite boring). I tend to play in newbie. The place where nobody really cares about, its nice.. noone really fights(witheachother)...

Sarge, one little note, your last statement is no longer neccessary as all pres in beta was fixed. And learning the beta system before it becomes release helps you get more pres when it becomes release, instead of being one of hte players trying to learn the game all over again. I personally am just addicted to beta, there's so much cool stuff in there that's not in release that I can't bring myself to play release until the next patch...

Not all prestige was fixed, but I've fixed everyone who has asked so far, that I've seen.
And Sarge, that now includes you.

We appreciate the help in beta, but those playing in release meanwhile won't be punished or whatever; that is the game you're paying for, after all.

And at the moment, there's not a list of things we need specifically tested, because we're just looking at general ship balance or little bugs that crop up (upgrade issues, or screwy descriptions, or the like). If something comes up that we need tested, we'll usually just recruit who is around.. so far that's worked.

If something specific does come up that needs testing, it'll be posted either in the news or the forum on the beta side.

Anyway, enjoy your gaming, whether its on beta or release, and please don't give grief to those who choose to play where they do, whichever version that may be.
