Acting was actually pretty good in Spiderman 1&2, XMen 1&2, Batman 1&2, a few others you mentioned & some implied. Writing was about average, the plots were quite interesting in some of them & quite bearable in others. The new SW movies, another story. But for a lot of the ones you mentioned....

BTW - I'm a theater major & student of acting, so its not an entirely uninformed opinion.

Exactly. You notice little problems with acting that most of us joes can overlook and still enjoy the movie.

The X-Men was actually pretty good as well as the 2nd one. I was refering to the OLD movies that are being recreated as if hollywood has nothing better to make. Tonight, I just watched "The Day After Tomorrow" for the first time. Now I know that movie is about 8 months old (I like to wait till movies come out on video). Now that movie had me on the edge of the couch! The old movies that I mentioned are just that, old. You know what is going to happen when you watch the remakes, same ol good guy bad guy routine. And to clearify the "bad commercial" comment I made, I was refering to having to watch the commercials, listen to reviews on the radio, billboard signs, newspapers ect. I'm just tired of hearing and seeing the stupid old movies everywhere..lol.

BTW, I tried to watch the spiderman TV premier series, LAME! Prime example.

You want a list of GOOD movies...

The Day Aftfer Tomorrow
The Core
Armageddon
Mission To Mars
Final Destination (1 & 2)
Space Cowboys
ect...

A surprisingly well-done movie, considered the last two. My only grip is that Jar Jar didn't die ^_^

*spoilers*
Order 66 was executed perfectly (no pun intended) and when Anakin/Vader marchs into the Jedi Temple with a Legion of Stormtroopers behind him you know sh*ts going to happen. I actually got a little teary-eyed (yeah I'm a pansy )when he walks into that room full of little Jedi and the one kid says "Master Skywalker, there are too many, what will we do?" and you just seem them all recoil when he activates his lightsaber. Oh, and all of the lightsaber duels, ground battles and the fight over Coruscant rocked (think we can incorporate some of those ships into Darkspace? )

Correction, hollywood doesn't have anything good to make, that is why their revenues are down and they get all pissy at people for downloading movies (Even though studies show people tho download them woudln't goto the theater or buy the DVD even before they had that ability).

Some of the best movies of all time were made int he 80's. Starwars 4,5,6. Living dead series, Spaceballs, feris buellers day off, ect.
