UGTO Blockade Force
31/08/2435
Alpha Centauri-Lalande Jump Gate/Alpha Centauri System
Half of the respected Nicea forces slowed down slowly in their jump formation. The ships soon exited from jump to look apon the massive gathering of ships around the Lalande Jumpgate in the Alpha Centauri system. Duop quirked a brow a bit, then motioned for the fleet to come to a halt near the GTN and MYTH Fleets in front of them.
"CSA Normandy to the GTN Executioner...Fleet Admiral Backslash, we are now in system and awating orders over..."Duo waited for a few moments, then the monitor came back on, not with Backslash, but with Demorian. "Good to see you Fleet Admiral, move your fleet into formation with us, we are peparing to head into Luyten and engage the enemy, they took Ross 148 while you were trying to get here..."
"Roger that sir..."Duo cut the communications link, then relayed the order to the commanding officer of each command ship that was with him. It was then that he received his orders from the Independence to take orders from GTN's supreme commander. He wouldnt question his orders, so he went along with it. Duo looked over at Zen, then nodded, "Alright Ensign...Take us in slow, move us into formation with the other dreadnoughts, right along side that ship right there..."he pointed to it on the screen. The GTN's EAD, the GTN Executioner.
Duo and Backslash went back a long way, both of which had gone to the UGTO Officers acadamy, so they were good friends. It had been a long time since they flown together, so he wanted to show his old comrade that he hadnt gotten rusty over the years.
The Normandy moved into position slowly as not to ram into any of the ships. Duo sighed and sat back into his command chair, looking at the massive fleet that had formed here. He closed his eyes, not wanting to go into battle against one of his old commanders. The reason he said the ICC were being headed by Banshee, was because he knew how that Grand Admiral did things. Short, to the point, and catches the enemy by surprise. His eyes soon looked to the people on the bridge, then looked up on the Forward, Read, Portside and Starboard screens, looking at all the ships that had formed into the area. There were easily close to 150-200 ships. Most of which were frigates and destroyers.
Rookies. Thats the word he had for them, fresh from the acadamy and in their first or second starship. As far as he was concerened, they were better ment for patrols in the home star system where it was safe, but then, no where was actually safe. Duo remember just a year back, he had gotten orders to go find a Harrier class Frigate that had slammed into an Asteroid while in jump. He had never seen a ship like what he found. No weapon marks, just flattened and shattered like a pancake. These rookies in the fleet would make perfect cannon fodder, but he didnt want to see more lives wasted, but he didnt have a choice in it either.
He looked up when the ship started to move along with the rest of the fleet. Each one began setting course for the jumpgate that was only 1000gu in front of them. He looked around, seeing the smaller ships outrunning the larger warships. It was very common, and it was usually how things got started. The frigates and destroyers would move in first, distract fire and hopefully dwindle the enemys smaller ships and the larger ships ammunitions, the cruisers would then move in, damaging the heavier warships like enemy cruisers and dreadnoughts. Then the dreadnoughts would move in and clean up. Standard procedure, but not this time. This time around, every ship would be in at the same time. Seemed Demorian wanted the enemy to turn tail and run, but he knew Banshee wouldnt order a retreat unless absolutely necessary...
The fleet moved into the jumpgate slowly, and soon all stars faded from existance for the trip to the Lalande System, and there, another full scale battle would take place. And he and his crew would once again attempt to cheat death...

UGTO and ICC Forces/Demaret Orbit/Lalande System
The B-27 fighter craft began weaving through the debries that were floating around. Damaged ships were trailing smoke, both ICC and UGTO vessels scattered amongst the debrie field. M-7 fighters moved around from behind a smoldering Missile Dreadnought and fired their railguns towards the B-27 fighter craft of the 309th. The B-27 evaded and scattered while the M-7's disappeared when the Pulse Lasers from the CSA Vigilant began firing at them. One of the M-7's were struck on their right wing which sent them tumbling around. It spun for a few seconds then was struck again three to four more times before it fell apart and exploded.
The Normandy turned on its side, barely scraping past a Combat Dreadnought. The Combat Dreadnoughts forward missiles fired past the Normandy, striking a Gunboat Destroyer in the forward portside of the ship. Flames fumed into space when the missiles struck, the golden hull turning to a deadly red and orange. The destroyed veered to its right while heading at full speed. The ship continued on that course until a volley of seven fusion torpedos impacted it head on. The ship cumbled into pieces.
The Normandy spun around on its all 3-axis. The top CL2000's charged and rained death apon the Combat Dreadnought above it. The beams hit against the shields. The blinding silver flare as the energy struck the barrier went on for a few seconds, then the beams broke through, slamming into the combat dreadnoughts top bridge.
The ship spun out of control and slammed into an asteroid shortly after. The smoldering wreck moved to a hault when it impacted into the small planetoid. Duo sighed, then barked orders when an Assault Cruiser spun out and moved above the smoldering wreck of the Combat Dreadnought. It moved out of the debrie field and sent five fusion torpedos screaming to the Normandy. The Normandy soon lifted upwards, narrowly avoiding the torpedos then fired fusion torpedos right back. The torpedos slammed into the Assault cruiser's shields, knocking them out. Just shortly after that, another volley of torpdeos slammed into the cruiser. The ship imploded and then disappeared when it errupted into a ball of fire. The Normandy moved down, seeing the GTN Executioner fly past, firing more torpdeos at an incomming combat destroyer. Those torpedos slammed into the top fin of the destroyer. One stray torpedo slammed into the ships bridge and sent it flying into a nearby Assault Dreadnought.
The Assault Dreadnought fell onto its side from the impact. Its beams and torpedos firing at any object it could find. One torpedo cruiser fell into its wrath, the beams from the assault dreadnought shearing through the armor and hull like tissue paper. The Normandy then turned, firing all forward weapons at the enemy ship. The assault dreadnought felt the pain when two fusion torpedos, and three beams lashed into its side. The torpedos caused the hull to melt, and the beams punctured through both sides. The Assault Dreadnought spun, vention atmosphere until a stray beam lashed into its rear engines, cutting through to the main reactor, sending the ship into a ball of fire.
Duo fell from his chair shortly after that, most of the crew being sent into a wall when a Missile Dreadnoughts barely slammed into the side of the Normandy while trying to move down through the fire fight. The dreadnought spun around and fell into pieces when one of the pods above the ship were destroyed. The Normandy shuddered, flames and smoke billowing from the gaping wound on its side. Duo got up, feeling another beam slash into the top engine. Zen got back into his chair and got the wounded EAD back on course. Karen just laid there on the floor, parts from her control pannels had been destroyed, the explosion on her counsol sent the pieces into her body at rapid speeds. Duo looked at her, then sighed and turned his head away. Roger got back to the weapons port, and began working again like nothing had happened.
The Eclipse rolled around, firing its newly installed Psi Cannons down onto a destroyer and frigate. The fury of the weapons burnt the two ships down until they either hit debries, another ship or exploded. Evils eyes narrowed a bit when he saw another BattleDread fall into flames and exploded just 500gu off the Eclipse's portside.
The Independence turned and lashed down onto an Assault Cruiser and Heavy Cruiser, both of which spinning out of control and rammed into one another. The noses of both ships crumpled and sent the ships into flames. Ferawulf growled and got the ship over into the main fury once again.
The GTN Repulse turned and began heading down. A rogue M-7 turned and fired at the hatches on the Repulse, blowing one of the hatches opened and flew inside. Soon enough it slammed into a barrier and exploded with a MiRV bomb inside. A large section of the hull exploded on the Repulse. Fleet Admiral Enterprise felt the hit and had the ship ram into the nearest Assault Dreadnought possible. Some of the crew died on the impact. "All crew to their respected escape pods immediatly!"
The pods ejected from the Repulse. Just then Enterprise initiated the 5 second self destruct program. He saluted the ship and those aboard that had already died. The Repulses engines and reactors ignited, blowing the Repulse and enemy Assault Dreadnought apart.
Duo's eyes widened, seeing the planet of Demaret sending their shuttles and transports through the battle. He knew the civilians were scared and trying to head off to another system away from the battle. The tide of the battle was changing, the UGTO were taking heavier loses than the ICC, and now with the civilians in the area, it would make things all the more difficult.
The Normandy turned 30 to port and ran towards the lead ICC Dreadnought. Duo growled some, "Just you and me...Banshee..."The Normandy charged in, the weapons firing, but the AD moved out of the way of the weapons, the shields blocking the beams full force while the torpedos passed it, slamming into a nearby Command Carrier. The Normandy changed course and followed. Duo was flung from his chair once again when torpedos slammed into the forward seconds of the Normandy, "Decks 30C through 15D are gone, decks 15A and 50E are damaged..."
"Continue with this course! Do NOT Let that ship get away!"Just then the entire screen went up and the Normandy slammed into a Nuke Mine that was left when the Assault Dreadnought ran from it and engaged other ships. The Normandy spun out of control, spinning around and slid to a stop as the engines died out all together. Sparks and parts of the ship began to go up in smaller secondary explosions. "All hands abandon ship! I repeat all hands abandon ship!"
Duo looked back, then turned, a few tears in his eyes. Roger and Zen followed one another to the nearest escape pod while Duo ran to the flight deck, grabbing gear, putting it on and got into the first B-27 he could find. The escape pods ejected and he flew off the deck into the battle once again. The Normandy sat there, like a ghost ship, the lights flickered, and secondary explosions errupted all over the hull until the ship finally exploded into three to four fragments. Tears soon fell through him, "God....Karen..."he turned his ehad and rushed out, the partical cannon on the B-27 firing at the nearest damaged destroyer. The cannon continuosly fired. He then hit the secondary weapons trigger, the Fury Missile errupting from its hold and blasted into space. The missile weaved around and slammed into the destroyers bridge.
The Executioner picked up the escape pods from the Normandy, Backslash looked around then growled at the site.
Demorion shook his head and stood there on the bridge of his ship, his hands behind his back, "All ships fall back, fighters and escape pods find the nearest ship. All ships once docking is finished jump out as quickly as possible. Any ships using random vectors, hold there until further orders are established...God be with you all"
Duo growled and turned, heading for the CSA Angelwing, one of the new Carriers of the UGTO. Once he docked there, the ships jumped out. And all Duo could see on his monitor is when ships began to jump out, the ICC weapons soon turned onto the civilians trying to run from the planet. Most of which military transports that were evactuating marines. And in all that with the ships looking the same, no one could tell if it was military of civilian ships.
The Angelwing turned and ran out of the battlefield, then activated his jump drives and evacuated the area with the GTN Executioner and the GCI Eclipse. The CSA Independence jumping out with the medical ships. "More innocent men women and children....We dont even know what we are fighting for anymore..."Duo growled and crossed his arms and closed his eyes when the cockpit lights turned out, and he was in the darkness once again, except this time, Karen wasnt around for another battle, once again battles had claimed a life of a close friend, and he would get his revenge.

Jack the part you miss here about the "It would never happen" is im trying to make the ships and battles more realistic without sacrificing the game basics. So =P

CSA Angelwing/UGTO Agincourt Class Carrier Dreadnought
03/09/2435-Military Calender
Unknown Location/Lalande System
B-27's and a group of the newer I-17 fighters flew by the bridge of the CSA Angelwing, the UGTO's newer Agincourt Carrier. Duo sighed a bit while he stood there, watching the more sluggish A-34's following behind the fighters and interceptors. He looked around the large bridge and sighed. Zen was at his post aboard the new ship, and Roger was at the weapons controls. Sadly enough, Karen was no longer around to do her duities. Nicholai Miles, who was incharge of the Angelwing stepped down to do her duities.
The ships around it were all in the same condition, scortch marks on the sides of the hulls. The GCI Eclipse had a gash on the top starboard side, exposing a few decks. The GTN Executioner followed just off the rear portside of the Angelwing. The CSA Vigilant had only recently caught up after ralleying a few supply ships and destroyers to the battle group. The UGTO forces in the system had been scattered all over the place, and the chain of command was in the toilet until all forces got back together.
"Alright....All ahead half power, signal the ship to follow us into jump...Move around Yahoo, and then set course for the Banards Star jumpgate..."Zen nodded, while Nicholai sent the transmission on a short wavelength through out the rest of the battle group. The ships in the fleet sent the same message back, confirming that they had receieved it. And in that instant, the entire battle group jumped out at one time in the same formation.
Duo looked through the windows, seeing the stars disappear when the ship had jumped. Amazingly the fighters were in such close proximity of the ships that the warp field created by all the ships drug the fighters in with them. The fighters could still move as nimbly as they could in normal space, so they returned to the Angelwing without exiting the warp field generated by all the ships.
Duo sighed, sitting back and rubbed his face a bit, looking around at the swirling energies that had engulfed the ships while in the vortex of the jump. He looked down to his pannel, then started looking over all the casualties from the last battle. He shook his head, only getting a fourth of the way down before putting it up, unable to look at it any longer.
"Sir we have a priority one transmission...Is a medical convoy that managed to save some of the people from ships that jumped from the battle but either broke down or were too damaged to move again...Their under attack!"
Duo looked around, then hit the entire fleet, "ALL ships drop out of jump NOW!" Right then the ships immediatly dropped out of jump, forming up around the Angelwing while it moved onto its portside heading, changing its course, "All ships that recharge their jumpdrives dont wait for the fleet, jump to the medical convoy and provide assistance. Larger ships follow when jumpdrives have been recharged!"
The smaller ships, supply vessels and destroyers jumped out first, then the cruisers. The Angelwing took longer to recharge since it didnt have the Anti-Matter jumpdrive installed yet. While the other ships jumped out soon afterwards. Duo growled a bit, then felt the ship suddenly jump out. Space around the ship folded and warped when it entered jump space again. And when they got to the convoy, he wouldnt let anyone else die until it was time to go toe to toe with the enemy fleet.

UGTO Medical-Supply Convoy/Lalande System
The ICC Command Carrier sat there in the distance, launching its waves of M-7 Figher wings. The escorting ships, several destroyers and two assault cruisers left formation, moving in at top speeds. The civilians around the windows of the UGTO Medical and Supply ships began huddling in hallways. The rear Light Supply ship took a torpedo round in one of the engines, which then rippled through the ships rather weak hull. It slowed and began to tumble abit until several more torpedo rounds sank into the ships hull, ripping the armor and hull to bits to the point where the ship broke apart in a fireball of explosions.
The lead Combat Destroyer began moving forward at a higher speed, moving up and around the hulk that had once been the light supply ship. The blue engine trails began glowing brighter when it started heading for the lead ship in the UGTO Convoy. At the tip of both fins, energy began slowly gathering while the CL300 weapons began to charge. The captain of the lead UGTO ship closed his eyes, knowing that beam would slice right through the ships hull.
The Combat destroyer soon became what it was seeking to make, a fiery ball in space. Three rounds of Cl300's sank into the ships hull, one of which striking the top visible bridge. The Assault Destroyers from the CSA Angelwing battlegroup jump in right when the enemy ship was to fire and destroyed it at point blank range. The three UGTO Destroyers moved at top speeds in three different directions, engaging the ICC Combat Destroyers.
The two AC's changed their course, prepairing to fire their lethal fusion torpedos at the new threats, only their course changed when a Torpedo Cruiser jumped in, just one minute after the destroyers. The AC's turned and began to move on both sides of the TC, firing a few torpedos when in range. The TC moved at top speeds, letting the torpedos barely miss the ship while it moved forward, going after the destroyers instead of the other two enemy cruisers. This baffeled the cruiser captains.
The scanners aboard the Command Carrier then went haywire, picking up three extremely large jump signatures. Right when the carrier began recalling its fighters, the GTN Executioner and the GCI Eclipse jumped in by the two assault cruisers, unleasing their deadly weapons apon the two surprised enemy vessels. One AC broke away, but the shields aboard it failed when the eight beams hit their marks all over the ship. It tumbled until one of its fins broke from the ship which caused it to tumble in a perfect direction. Backslash took the chance, looking to his gunnery crews, "All torepdos, FIRE"
The six torpedos fired from their ports, zooming through space until they slammed into the tumbling Assault cruiser. Plums of fire arced into space, the torpedos broke the hull apart, igniting the reactor of the ship which evaporated it in a ball of fire. The Eclipse fired all seven of its Psi Cannons at the remaining ship, then its three CL2000's. The Psi Cannons weakened the last AC's shields, then the beams finished it off when they cut the ship into three different sections.
The crew of the Command Carrier started to turn the ship away, when the CSA Angelwing came in behind her. The B-27's and I-17's launched right when the beams from the CSA Angelwing fired. The beams lashed across the carriers shields. The B-27's then began their runs on the enemy ship while the I-17 fighters headed for the convoy, tearing through the older M-7 fighters easily. The Angelwing then closed its range, firing the portside partical cannons, then the portside beams. The raining hell of firepower caused the Command Carriers shields to fail, allowing the weapons to tear through its hull. The massive ICC Dreadnought fell to its starboard side, allowing a Cl550 to puncture through the hull and into the ammunition storage rooms, which sent the chain reaction through those rooms, causing a massive chunk of the hull to blow apart.
"Cease fire, let god sort them out...All ships begin escorting the convoy, all B-27 craft return to base, I-17 fighter groups stay on station.."he shook his head, the Angelwing slowly turning on its side and formed up with the rest of the small fleet. Duo smiled, almost no casualties this time around, and luckly the light ship that was destroyed had almost no crew and few civilians, skeleton crews, perfect decoys he thought. He then smiled, looking out the windows of the bridge, the fleet slowly moving for the jumpgate to Alpha Centauri, which only rested 2000gu away.
