The FleetWars server is online.

There are a few simple rules to follow when the server isn't being used for competion:-

1) No bombing

2) No capping

3) No building

Competition Rules

Ship Selection

The numbers on each team are not fixed. It can vary by up to 25% but with a minimum team size of three people.
You can have a team of 3 playing a team of 4, or a team of 15 fighting a team of 20.

The total points each team gets to spend on thier ships is decided on the number of people in the smallest team multiplied by 5.

Using the 15 vs 20 example we have...
The team of 15 would have a total of 75 points to spend at 5 points average each member.
The team of 20 would get 75 points to spend at an average of 3.75 points per member.

Detailed point costs...

Scout = 1 point. (K'luth = 3)
Frigate = 2 points (K'luth = 4)
Light Supply = 2 points (+2 for reload)
Destroyer = 4 Points (K'luth = 6)
Heavy Supply = 3 points (+4 for 2 reloads)
Cruiser = 6 points
Dread = 9 points (Ganglia, +2 points for the reload.)
Station = 12 points (+2 per reload)

This will mean that you would expect a team to use mainly destroyers or cruisers. All K'luth ships will cost an additional two points up to the cruiser class. This is necessary to balance the smaller vessels.
A ship with a reload devices cost 2 points extra per reload.

You are allowed to mod, but these are limted to those allowed by your chosen factions Factories.

Ladder Explanation

The FleetWars tounrament is done on a ladder system. Each fleet starts with 1000 points when joining the ladder. These will be won and lost depending on how well your fleet fares.

Ladder link:- http://www.ravenwarriors.com/drafell/ladder/ladder.php

For equally matched teams, the winner will gain 5% of the total points of the losing team and the loser will lose 5% of thier points. So at 1000 points one team would win 50 points making a total of 1050, and the other team would go down to a total of 950.

We have decided to include a modifier to reward the low ranking teams for trying to take on the large teams and not lose so much.
The actual points calculation formula is as follows:-

(LoserTotal*0.05)*(LoserTotal/WinnerTotal) = Total points lost/gained

If a low ranked fleet beats a team with double their score, they would get double the reward. If the high ranked team wins, they will get half the reward. This means that to maintain the top position fleets will need to work for it.

For a duel to be classified as Official and to be entered onto the ladder, a Moderator needs to be present as either observing or participating.

Combat Rules

Once the teams are ready they will each go through the CombatZone wormhole to thier respective spawn points. the players will then stay at this point until BOTH teams are ready. At this time no players are allowed to have any ECM, ECCM or Cloak active.
The game officiator will then check that both teams are valid. Providing there are not any problems then the officiator will start the match.
NO fighting is to commence before this point. If any teams fail to follow the rules then they will automatically be disqualified and lose that match.
Once the match commences then all normal play rules apply.
Boarding is allowed.

Once a player dies then they are not allowed to re-enter the combat zone. Any players doing so will disqualify thier team from the game.

Any players interfering in the Combat Zone when a FleetWar is underway will be pushed from the server.

Observing

There is specific faction for watching the games called Observer. Anyone wishing to watch the FleetWars should join this faction. It is NOT a combat faction.
