With the Trial, you get the benefits of a subscription for a couple weeks.
Use it to start in the newbie servers.

As the server starts, nothing is owned.
Always spawn a transport - it comes with a pair of green infantry.
Pick a close planet and drop 1 troop - line up to go to another planet.
Drop another one.
Jump back to the Spawn gate (where you originally started)
Get an engineer ship.

Go to the first planet you went to.
With luck you picked one that provides metal as a basic resource.
Build a Colony Base, Dome, Farm, Fusion Plant, Mine, Barracks
If you want the prestige for building, wait for the first to finish before you build another.

As a suggestion, build with gaps if the size of the planet allows. Bombers damage the spot they hit - PCM's damage a radius. If you put buildings 3 apart, at best they can only hit one.

Add more Mines as convenient. Queue up Infantry at the Barracks.

Pick up the infantry and keep it on your ship.

Go to the next planet that you landed troops at, repeat -- last thing you should do is add more Mines. Return to the first planet.

Most likely, you're getting close to max pop (Colony allows 10 pop on a planet, the Farm + Dome allows you to grow food for +10 more and house +10 more respectively).

Build another Farm, a Dome, and, a Research Base or three depending on resources. Add more mines if possible. Other buildings including Starpots, more mines & barracks are optional (and intermediate topics)

Return to the 2nd planet - repeat.

In general, I can manage 4-5 planets when building myself, but, I have plenty of prestige and don't really care if I get the benefits of building.

In general, this will get you started with some prestige. Prestige gets you into larger/better ships.

Hey, really nice topic, but... all the planets are full!
Where can I find an empty planet?

Thanks!

The Scenario servers have a time span of between 2 and 4 hours for each map.. they will reset with a new map after that with all the planets wiped and available.
