Ok, now as that im new to programming of any kind (be it C, C++, Lua) that weird little (oh did i say that? i meant huge) manual has so totally lost me that my head hurt cause of it... can some1 help me understand it pls?

PS. how do i save the things ive done cause ive figured out how to make lua do simple math and i DON'T want to forget how... i dont wanna have to read that manual ever again cept for when i wanna try to learn something else out of it... like how to get it show the results so i can see if i put in the correct math symbol... its better than my calculator on my comp, it aint got no mult/divide symbol on the blatsed thing, besides... lua is easier on my fingers
