One thing I have noticed when playing DarkSpace is that the initial screen when you click on the Darkspace.exe file is somewhat dated and doesn't really fit in with the theme ingame or in the lobby. Also being fullscreen is irritating as many users nowdays have various other programs running in the background. Missing from this initial screen are the game name and the production company name.
Here is a suggestion which I threw together in a few minutes to address this. It is intended to be displayed in a window at 800x600

I personely think that picture should be changed to an actual in game screenshot (ooh, randomizer!)
but it looks better then what we have now! besides, everybody just clicks "lobby" anyway

I agreed, the picture has to be updated. Sneak in some Kluth ships in the mix; like looking from the outside.

I think it should just shoot you right into the lobby - and if you wannr run map editor give a seperate EXE in the start menu folder.

there is actually a .exe in the game dir that launches the lobby immediatly, i always use it(just put it as a shortcut somewhere)
