I know it is actually Christmas for most if not all of the world by the time you see this but a buddy of mine sent this to me and I thought I would pass it along... I thought it was a bit funny.

Enjoy!

Twas the night before Christmas and all about the decks
Not a Sailor was stirring, except for the night check
And I in my berthing asleep in my rack
Had just settled down for a short, restless, fitful winter's nap.

When up on the deck there arose such a clatter
I heaved from my bed to see what was the matter
As I wondered what it could possibly be
I listened for word on the 1-MC

Then clear as a bell the familiar orders:
"Not a drill! General Quarters, General Quarters!"
I swiftly made my hasty egress
And meanwhile donned my battle dress

The TAO could be heard on the squawk
As bleary-eyed shipmates awakened in shock
I dressed to fight an impending blaze
When the Captain ordered his birds to engage

"On Tomcat!, On Hornet!, On Prowler and Viking!
On Seahawk!, On Hawkeye! Now faster than lightning!"
The moon on the breast of the water outside
made it so no foe could possibly hide

There came despite such an initial scare
News of an unknown small contact by air
So fast it alarmed the radar system
A second more and we might have missed him

Boom! The CIWS fired its shots
And into the sea he fell with a plop
SAR swimmers and helos rushed to the scene
With spots shining bright and lookouts eyes keen

One fat survivor was howling for help
And I laughed when I heard, in spite of myself
That Santa Claus had apparently forgotten
He'd used "Just for Men" and looked like Bin Laden

Merry Christmas To All!

Rocko
