im testing.. GTW's Right now. Hmm.. very good, but it messes up the way i like my desktop, as my start bar would cover the text.. So i think i may use Meko's..

I like mekos on my desktop too.
a lil note, since i realized its a wallpaper contest, i didnt really clue in to the fact that the writing might get covered up...
so i moved it up, however the "darkspace.net" still gets covered.
if i had internet at home i might add that somewhere else, maybe at the top. but i dont, so i cant =)

You know...
i actually knew it was a wallpaper and is the reason i made mine simpler and not clustered as to make it easier to put icons on your desktop and not cover anything like THIS
But you know what, i'm tired of being walked all over by ppl like Dempster and others i've made sigs for and being completely unacknowledged 99% of the time.
So do me a favor, if you're one of the half dozen ppl running around with my work attached to you profile.. REMOVE IT
I'm just going to go to Deviant art and submit my work there where ppl, even if the don't like it, will atleast acknowledge my efforts.

I think the reason why people aren't commenting on your wallpaper isn't because it sucks or anything, but because its unremarkable. And not skill-wise, its just what you expect in a wall paper contest. Now a giant splash-scene done in MS Paint is something you normally don't expect, thus it attracts attention. People are drawn to things that are novel and out of the ordinary, your entry isn't.
Also its an unproven rule of advertising that if you want someone to look at your stuff, you get someone else to criticize it. People then go to see why the guy doesn't like it so much. So your tirades aren't really improving your chances, just causing people to go look at the other entries. For example, I just went looking for Dempsters non-existant entry because I thought you were ranting about it as well.

Quite the contrary... my rant was actually unrelated to the wallpaper event.
It was actually directed at a few of the 10 ppl currently running around with my sig work. Unfortunately doing things for ppl tends to go unnoticed or unappreciated these days and franky I've had enough.
So I guess the best thing to do is PM them and ask them to go make their own sigs and remove mine from their profiles.
As for this wallpaper contest I actually don't care at this point, i could revise it, make it more "flashy" but i have lil interest, i submitted what i submitted and I'm satisfied.
As for future "art" related events I'm not interested... I've grown alot in the way of learning Photoshop and I think I'm going to start working on projects for submission on Deviant Art.
Didn't mean to rant the contest I was actually specifically frustrated with a few ppl at the time, and it dawned on me I've been "taken advantage of" for lack of a better term.
At any rate... carry on with the contest and good luck to all who entered.
