What if people lost thier old accounts?
I'v created an account every year so that I start over...I dont think that would be fair on some.

Maybe vet can be defined by rank or time played not date you registered.

No, because that is not how a Vet is defined in this community....those who have been here for a while are known as vets, Rank and Time played mean nothing...

i need a vet  i got fleas..
errm.. i mean... veteran players should just make a clan and go around pwning new members in the MV and lobby .... (or just wear an {Absolut} tag  ) 
honestly there's no real way to define a veteran... i'd say a veteran is someone who has a great level of skill in ALL aspects of the game...
but that would mean some ppl that have been here a really long time aren't vets since they STILL CAN'T BUILD!
So basically before you decide to give "veterans" some benifits, you need to define a "veteran" first.. then worry about how to reward them

Yes! I should get benefits for being a veteran of some past version. I should get benefits for 2 years of lobby camping, with a little gameplay thrown in for good measure.
How about a lifetime subscription for anyone who has won a dueling ladder

a peice of palestar, would i put that above my fireplace? nice discussion peice =) oooo, do you think i could get matching space ships? itd be like, the semi-white glowing class of ships...
newho... ive been here over a year, but i cant build anymore, because they changed the build system so its all confusing now. modding is more difficult then it use to be too
as for benefits; PERHAPS when that 4th species comes out, if it comes out, only veteran players are allowed to use it? a sort of bonus set of ships to use? BUT, only for limited amounts of time at various intervals, no fun having all the experienced players slaughtering the noobs with new green mechanical ships. since id imagine this is going to be a little far off from now, putting it with something thats also a little far off wouldnt hurt, faustus' coding schedule wise
