I think bounty hunting would be a good feature to add to DS as it would add more depth to the game
You could make it so that fleet admins can set a bounty on enemy faction player and pay it out of the fleet treasury

Well, now that xplisit is K'Luth I dun care about green bounties... lol.

I like this idea, give an assigned bounty on someone - but it has to be for a reason like they bombed a planet, killed a supply or engy - standard combat or anything like that shouldn't count. Server should ask a fleet admin (who should be a grand admiral or something) if they want to place a bounty on this enemy (add it as part of the orders group maybe?). Allow the option for 24 hours, and the bounty lasts for like a week or something, or until the contract is fullfilled.

When the bounty order is given, all ships that are within 2 ranks (maybe 3) of the target are given an option on the orders screen whether they will accept this bounty mission. You get more $$ & pres if you are lower rank than the target, less if you are higher rank - compared to a set amount if you are the same rank. Upto like 5 or 10 ships can accept the bounty order, after that (or maybe just one, have it work like current orders. Order goes out to combat ships only maybe?) the order disappears from people's screens. If 5 ships total can accept the mission, and 4 have taken it, then two people click at about the same time, the one who clicked first according to when the server receives the confirmation gets the 5th mission slot.

I like this bounty hunting idea. Reminds me of Samus Aran. =p

I watch a show called "Cowboy Bebob" that does this bounty hunting thing. Apparently, bountys continue to stay active unless the person with the bounty is dead. Setting a time limit on the bounty's..hmm I'll be thinking about this. I'm not sure about the higher the rank, the less you get awarded..I'll think about this as well. IMO, I prefer just to keep it at the same no matter what rank you are but that's just me. Well..this is what I have to say about it. Again, it ain't a bad idea.

Well, my thinking was that an admiral with an EAD shouldn't be able to get the same bounty for someone who used a bomber dessy to nuke a planet as a captain with a battle cruiser or whatever. Just a thought

I kinda like the idea. I actually offered a 1 million credit to the fleet that eventualy capped Nicea back when it was all the UGTO had left. But nobody ever got it.

Hmmm. I could put out a hit on a whole fleet, right? Say, 100 credits for every scalp...i mean screenie that shows them dying and a time/killer in the log text. I'd love to see people gunning for Fatal. If for no other reason then to see if they can kill them before they SD.

Also the possibility to become a bodyguard of someone who has a bounty on their head... if you can keep them alive before the bounty is taken for a certain amount of time (if a timer on the bty is put in, then use that) then you get a reward for protecting them.

I'm gonna go cry over my broken client now ^.^
