But the biggest view-point to station underpower is its combat abilities.

Not many looks at station and say "Oh! its a good transpoter with its Worm hole II device." Or

"Fleet! Lets go, Stay behind the station, it'll cover you till we get to attacking range."

Or maybe "Crap! Who built these planets!? I need repair! ~Insert massive 50 line Supply Distress here~"


saddly, no one looks at the station as a useful Facility like an "Out Post"

Everyone looks at it hoping its some monsterous Fighting Machine that everyone fears you.... but apparently, every goes "Free Pres!" at the sight of a station.

It would be intesesting to find a station that has no Repair drone and Upped on energy and weaponry that even the bravest pilots would fear.

Maybe a special upgrades station after Fleet Admiral. A better station that will change the tide of the front from its presence?

Well, this is true... the human races call their stations Support Stations... how about a defense station? How about a Combat Station? GA needs more than just pissing rights.... whats the word on stations again from 483? I forget...

no thats not nuff said. eads blow chunks. and AD can take an EAD one on one.


however im just bitching. but i agree. if "Support station" is Fleet Admiral.... we have Got to have a "Defence Platform" for GA...

-(ugto)Triple layered heavy armor
-(icc)double layered actvie shields/single layer heavy armor
-dunno about stuff for luthys.
--Weapons--
-Torpedoes, a few, so 5. this is a stationary platform so there not needed much.
-lots of IT's. say 8.
-lots or ARs(psi)say 8
-3 sets of CL banks. (refer to sectioning idea)
-3 pulse beams per section
--Goodies--
-2 tractor beams
-NO reloads
-4 eccm and a reactor just for them
---Special information---
-Platform has no engines (that can provide thrust) because its a platform. if u want it moved u need to have a tug boat.
-Sections
=the platform isnt one hull. its really three hulls. you can lose one hull and the other two will still work. EG: port section dies, you then still have two more. however power supply will be cut, so will armor and weaponry.
=CL banks. each 'section' has its own CL system. the main weapons are shared but the lazers are by section. so if u lose 2 sections you may only have 1 torp and 2 AR's that will work (the rest either dmg'd or destroyed) but you will have lazers that will still work.


this idea is obviously in need of normal ppls brains devouring it and rebuilding it into the glory it can be. so yea... devour. then build.

If an AD kills an EAD, the EAD pilot doesn't know what he's doing. AD is a power hog (4 shields, only 1 reac) compared to the EAD (2 reacs, all armor). Any EAD should outmaneuver and outlast (energy-wise and thus also hull-wise) an AD. Think about it. At equal speeds, firing full alphas, the AD will run out of energy much faster. EAD can just make up for its less firepower in a matter of seconds.

I was checking out ship configs last night... pretty sure that an AD has 3 utility slots... I'd have to recheck. I know most of the other dreads have 3...

An AD can rotate his shields, and if he is smart, and DOESN'T fire in alpha strikes (n00bs), and saves his lasers for after the armor is down, the EAD is toast. Has a mine slot too. It comes down to pilot skill, intangibles; blanket statements dont work I don't think.
