There is a known bug concerning ghosts in the lobby. This is caused when the player exits the game and goes back into the lobby. Their connection in-game lingers after they have already connected and joined a chat room, when the old connection is finally dropped then the server removes them from the room.

This will be fixed on monday..until then, when you leave the game, simply join the room again to actually receive messages for the room.
